This portable electric hot plate is a great addition. It heats up quickly, maintains consistent temperatures, and is perfect for cooking out, keeping food warm, or using as an extra burner during holidays and family gatherings. The 1800W power provides plenty of heat for boiling water, frying, simmering, and everyday cooking. It’s compact enough for small apartments, dorm rooms, RVs, camping trips, or home offices, yet large enough to handle regular cookware with ease. I also appreciate how easy it is to clean. This unit really works! And, Yes!! It gets hot! The entire unit gets hot!! The handles remain “touchable” BUT DO NOT MOVE THIS UNIT UNTIL IT’S COMPLETELY COOLED!!! And it takes a long while to completely cool down. I didn’t have any trouble heating a medium large pot to a roiling boil, just know it’ll take longer than a conventional range top to reach boiling. It’s a “hot plate,” not a two burner conventional range top. I found the temperature settings easy to navigate. It stores easily on any shelf. Light weight but not cheaply flimsy. A great addition to any kitchen, whether indoors or out. I’m using it in a small kitchenette studio apartment. Product description is accurate.

This is a great little set-up for my cabin. I use it mostly for heating up water for doing dishes and some cooking. The bigger burner is a work horse - boils a gallon of water pretty fast for a little unit. I don't use the smaller burner much. I bought a couple large silicone heat absorber pads to put under the unit, but they've never really gotten hot. Still not a bad idea to do this just as a precaution. I do want to comment on the continuing heat after turning the unit off. Per the product description: "It takes about 20 minutes for the burner to cool completely, which helps keep the food warm for a long time." My experience: once water got to near boiling state, I would turn off the burner, but the water continued to boil - there's no immediate slowdown like a regular stove burner. I've now made it a habit to unplug the unit to get the heat source to stop sooner than later. Other than the continuing heat after shut-off, (which some people might be okay with...) it does a good job.

I tried it out yesterday and cooked my dinner and it worked just wonderfully. Glad I bought it.

Good little hot plate. Heats up quickly. Make my meals on it everyday. It does take quite sometime to cool down completely, so do not touch burner or set anything on it for at least 10 minutes after you turn it off. I have had no issues with it and would recommend. Easy to clean. Quite and seemingly well built.

Takes a while to heat up and to cool down, the thing really holds the heat. Otherwise works ok. The knobs are dumb because the natural shape of them leads you to think the indicator is in one area but it's actually where they printed a red dot in the corner of one of the decals. Takes some getting used to compared to electric range.

I had never used a hotplate before. At first I thought it didn't work as it takes a minute to heat up, but once it does, you would think you were cooking on a stove.

Its a premium quality hot plate. I wanna use it for 6 months and again write a review. I have used techwood before , 1500 w solo plate was actually really good. I wanna try this dual burner 1800 watt , so far heats really really good. It takes few minutes to heat as the metal plate is really thick and its a very nice alloy to prevent the entire device from overheating and shorting the fuse.Once hot , its just amazing.
