Pit Boss 3-Series Gas Vertical Smoker, Red Hammertone - 10773

First time smoking to any degree. This smoker works great. It's just a matter of setting temperatures correct. If the smoker is sitting in the sun or shade you're going to have a wide variation of temperatures that you'll need to correct at the burner. All in all a great product at a great price.. got it on the one day spring sale! I read a lot in reviews about being difficult or taking a long time to put together. I use a battery operated drill with a Phillips head that was correctly sized for the screws to make sure I didn't scar the head of the screw. Took me about an hour... And it looks great!

Love this smoker. I was worried at first by the reviews I read about dents and damage in shipping. I received mine on 3/16/25 and it was perfect, no damage at all. Not sure how any damage can happen the way it is packaged. Easy to assemble, took me 2 hours but I was taking my time while enjoying a cocktail or two. Fired it up for the first time today (3/17), 47 degrees outside and had no problem reaching 305 degrees. This is going to be perfect for low and slow smoking at 225 degrees. The door has a good seal too, no leaking smoke from it. This is a good smoker. The one thing I do not like is the thermometer that came with the unit would not go over 250 degrees when the ThermoPro probes said 305 degrees. Most thermometers that come with smokers and grills are never right.

The smoker is decent quality. The metal it is constructed with is a bit thin. The seal is not very good so I added a felt seal on the door opening. The base could use a wind blocker to help keep a steady temperature along with a thicker metal. The adjustable shelves are very nice along with the water tray. I like the capacity and the setup overall. The propane helps greatly to maintain temperature while smoking the meat for extended periods of time. The enamel coat seams to be good quality only time will tell. Assembly was not very difficult. I used high temp silicone sealant to ensure a good seal to retain smoke. I'm happy with my purchase.

The quality of the build is SUPERIOR. Very well constructed and nice and sturdy. Cant wait to get it smoking.

This smoker works great. Salmon, pork tenderloin, Boston butt. All came out wonderful. Holds smoke good and chips last for a while. Have to keep an eye on it because it stopped working and had to reset it . Door lock is good also no smoke escaped.

Does not regulate temperature. We got a grill with a smoker in it then because this wasn’t working well. I guess that’s what happens when you try to go cheap.

Great beginner smoker. Set it and forget it!

So of course to start with its a cheap smoker so you have to accept it won't be the best thing out there but you still expect certain things. Cons 1. The door came scuffed up yet the box was perfectly fine...either the quality control at pitboss is horrible or this is a return masking as new. 2. the door seal was a joke, leaks everywhere. Going to try and fix this with a lavalock gasket 3. Just might be my preference but I wish the wood chip holder opened at the handle so you didn't have to completely remove it to reload chips. 4. Grease leaked down onto the wood chip holder, missed the water pan all together and crusted up on top of it which cause a bit of an issue pulling the tray in and out...going to investigate how that happened. 5. The gas knob is very cheap plastic. Positives 1. I felt assembly was easy and the instructions were correct. 2. Even with the seal leak the temperature was controllable for the most part 3. Decent space inside for the small form factor Overall it should work for me for the time being and is an ok smoker for a beginner....I do see why people pay a lot for the great smokers though.

The smoker looks and works Great, haven't stopped smoking meat since we got it, absolutely love it!!
