My wife wants to start making some creative cakes but wanted to find a way to practice without having to bake extra cakes. This item has helped. She puts icing in a piping bag and practices on the board. When done with practicing with one style, she can switch pages to another. All the pages come in a nice storage container that folds flat.

This nifty thing has helped me to excel and better my piping techniques for my home bakery. Very sturdy, easy to use and easy to clean. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting help with their piping skills.

I’m a beginner and was looking for a way to practice without having to waste a lot of food or force feed my relatives dessert. This fit the bill! It’s very easy to use and clean. In order to prevent wasting frosting, I also use an icing scraper to scrape it off the practice board and into a bowl, then eventually back into my piping bag for more practice. I love the practice sheets, and they have really helped me improve my skills. I highly recommend this to any beginner

I like this, but it could be much better. Having said that, you can make it “better” on-your-own quite easily.First, it should be noted that this practice board does not come with tips or bags. . . . or icing. Those must be purchased / made separately.Second, make sure you do not use a metal spatula to remove the icing from the board. It will scratch the board. You can use either a silicone type of spatula or plastic. Again. . . .not included.Here’s what I find “lacking”. . .. First, they use different tips on the same sheet. It would have been much better to use the same tip for all of the exercises on the same sheet. You don’t want to have to change tips.Second, the “practice” part is only once or perhaps twice. You should have an entire sheet of the same sort of practice so you can do it over and over to get proficient. Granted, you can do it over and over on-your-own. But an easy way to do this is to create your own practice sheets on your printer, so you can make rose after row. Either scan the included practice sheets. . . or take a picture. . . and then crop the picture. . . then paste it again and again on a page in Word and print it out.I like that this practice board will stand at an angel. Because the side of cakes are not “flat”, so you should practice on an angle.Made in China.

This item got great reviews and as I am new to cookie and cake decorating I thought it would be a big help. I haven’t used it yet but it is exactly as described and actually much better quality than I was expecting. I think it will go a long way toward helping me learn the different decorating skills I’m hoping for. Very happy with the purchase

Products arrived one day earlier than expected. I tried my hand at a few of the patterns. When your mind knows what tho do, but the hands are not as cooperative, the end result does not look like the pictures. After the first 30 minutes, having these templates to practice the different patterns is a great help. After my second practice I noticed the shapes and lines began to look nicer.For anyone wanting to make their cupcakes and cakes look nicer, this product is designed as a practice tool that can be used over and over. Repetition is what builds confidence and speed.With this kit there is no need to make a cake to practice on. The portable table gives you a smooth practice slate. When you are satisfied with your practice work you are ready too tackle cake or cupcakes.

This is a great teaching tool. I bought this for my new hires in my bakery department. I work as a bakery manager at a grocery store. I try very hard to train my associates but when I am not around I have in the past given them a bag with a writing tip and parchment paper to practice with. This board will be able to teach them all different types of things without me being there. They absolutely love it and are having so much fun trying different things. I have seen a huge difference in them learning and with how quick they are able to do things. I have also learned a lot of new ideas that I never have thought of. I highly recommend this to anyone in the cake decorating business as a teaching tool. We all know that sometimes we can't be there for everything but this helps with that and they are all excited about all the different types of things they can all now do.
