Novogratz Brittany Sofa Futon, Premium Linen Upholstery and Wooden Legs, Blue Linen

I was blown away by the quality of this sofa for the price. When I purchased mine, there was a promotion so I actually paid less than $200 for this model.It arrived in a single compact box which had me worried at first, but when I unpacked this sofa I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the material. (The engineering behind the packing and couch design deserve recognition, it’s the most efficient thing I’ve seen in a long time)In a nutshell, I am completely satisfied with this futon. The material is soft and durable, the sofa is comfortable to sit on after long periods of time, and it’s designed to turn into a bed!The style and aesthetic perfectly matches our home, and it was incredibly easy to assemble. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble by myself, and it seats 3 people comfortably.I hope this blue color becomes available again soon! I could really use another one.

Okay I like this couch just to be clear but it's not a good sleeping experience. I tried to sleep on it the first night we got it and it's just not comfortable. I think if you put a big cozy comforter underneath you it might work but if that's the surface you have to work with than "fugeta 'bout it". It's hard which is fine if it's a sofa; but it's not fine if you want something that will give your guest a pleasant night's sleep. I do like the design of it though. It's a great Mid-Century Modern look and it has a low profile and it's not overly cushy so it doesn't take up a lot of space. It's not cozy but then again this era of design wasn't known for that quality. It's a nice dark blue color and it goes well with greys, browns, and lighter blue colors. The last thing I will say is that it is bear to put together by yourself. There are so many swinging aspects to this thing and unless it's completely level the backside of it wants to swing one way and with the hinge at the center of it it wants to swing apart like cupboard doors. (I know this sounds nonsensical but when you pull it out of the box you will understand what I'm talking about). You might think, well just keep it level then, but the problem is you need to get on it's underside and outside left and right to install the legs and arms and to do so I finally had to rest it on four chairs elevated with the sides hanging off - just to get all the necessary components installed. Good luck. I'd say add alcohol to your assembly process - enough to make it a tolerable experience but not too much so that you install the legs wrong.

Ok a real an honest review. The futon looks great very art deco. I got the navy color in the linen fabric. It's not the most comfortable it could use more foam. Assembly was super easy it's a very simple design A++ in that area. Construction is on the cheap side. The screws in the hinges that hold the two halves together we're you bolt the middle legs onto were just ran in with a drill and not all of them are straight so the head of the screw messes with the middle legs sitting flush up against the hinge. Also the holes in the hinges for the screws are not countersunk and the screw heads are fluted made for countersunk holes so they sit flush with the hinge. It's not a huge deal no one will see it but you have to put the middle legs in there so you as the consumer sees how it's made and it just made me feel a little bad about the craftsmanship it wouldn't have taken long to use a countersink drill bit on these holes there's only 8 holes. One other negative is the middle legs, thier made of plastic while the outside legs are wood so they don't match. All the stitching is good. The legs in the back of the top cushions for when it's folded out as a futon are SUPER cheap it's a plastic tube with a cap that's not glued on and it doesn't lock into position so be careful and make sure the legs are pulled out to a perfect 90° to the floor if not and you sit on that side it could tip. I like the multiple sitting positions. It's very light weight and easy to carry. I'm 6ft 300lbs and I can lay down on this fine with space any taller than that though it might be to short to lay down on comfortably. Even with the negitives I have pointed out there not deal breakers and for the price the futon is a great bargain I love it I would buy it again.

My fiance and I ordered sofa in May of 2018. We live in a pretty remote small town so getting furniture shipped for free seemed like a good deal. Everything arrived just fine and it was very easy to put together with 2 people. It felt comfy and sturdy, the first week. Within a month the padding on the sides and two main cushions had noticeably broken down. We mostly kept it upright but would occasionally lower it to sleep if one of us dozed off to the TV. After about 3 months the padding on the cushions and sides was almost completely broken down and you can feel the wooden beams, painful to lay down on and not very comfortable to sit on. At 6 months of use the padding is gone, the only support is the springs you can feel sticking up, multiple have blown already and the thing will be in the garbage as soon as I find something new.First off, I understand when paying 200-300 dollars for a couch you aren't getting something built to pass down to your kids, but you aren't expecting it to unusable after half a year of normal use either. Rarely slept on, me and my fiance are normal sized people and have no children or pets jumping up and down on it. I bought Wal-Mart futons in college for $99 that lasted way longer than this, and that was with parties and people crashing on it multiple nights a week.Here are some pictures of collapsed and/or sticking out springs and where the wooden frame is poking through was used to be padded areas way back in May.

I got this couch for my small apartment and loved it initially. It was a great price and it looks so nice! It’s a nice fabric easy to clean I have a cat and dog.It’s not that comfy I knew that though most futons aren’t. It is easy to put together just follow instructions. It’s easy to fold down I wouldn’t recommend for everyday unless you want to tighten the arms of the chair at least every week because the way I sit I lean on the arms.I am 5’6 and 175lbs and it fits me fine.

I paid 193 for this... I wouldn't pay more. Keep this in mind when ordering.That said: this is very sturdy, the blue is kind of a faded denim (goes well with my vintage throw pillow cases), and the cushioning is minimalistic and hard. The couch is easy to fold out into a bed but, if this will be a frequent use, then buy a mattress pad for it. I've slept on it and it is not the most comfortable. With a handful of throw pillows it makes quite decent seating in my office, which will be its primary use in my home.I thought this was easy to put together and I could have done it on my own, but I couldn't get it up the stairs to my office alone. Scooting it through the house was easy, just not the stairs. Have some help on hand to flip the couch upright after everything is all put together just so that you don't have to put unnecessary torque on its legs. I know some people had issues with holes not aligning or not being drilled, but the only trouble I had was having to punch through the black cover on my own in a couple of spots. Everything aligned and screwed together nicely for me. Another review also mentioned that the back rest doesn't align and is an "eyesore", but they move independently of one another and I'm not surprised they aren't 100% perfectly matched at this price point. My couch sits against the wall, so the slight uneven nature of the two halves of the backrest is not obvious at all.I could have a bought a plushier couch used from Craigslist, but it was worth it to me to buy something fresh and clean even if it isn't the most comfy thing on the planet. I don't regret this purchase.

Pros:-- price-- nice, modern design-- easy to assemble and easy to make it into a futon/make it back into a couchCons:-- it is just NOT comfortable to sit/lay on for long periods of time. You can feel every spring in this thing.-- it stains easily, even from just water. We have had it for a little over a year, and I just had to buy a slipcover, because it is embarrassingly dirty. The cushions can't be removed to wash, and spot cleaning seemed to make thestains more visible.Overall: if you are staging a house to sell it, or if you are going to place this in a room you don't use very often, but want to make look nice, this is the couch for you. If you are an active family -- particularly a family with kids or pets -- that plans on sitting on this couch a lot, look for something else.

Very comfortable and specious!

Das Sofa ist , für den Preis, überraschend hochwertig. Der Stoff wirkt wie Leinen, ist evtl sogar Leinen. Sehr robust, viel Holz verarbeitet. 4 Holzbeine, 2 in der Mitte aus sehr stabilem Plastik und auch noch 2 weitere Metallbeine zum Ausklappen in der flachen Schlafposition. Durch insgesamt 8 Beine fühlt man sich sehr wohl und sicher. Die Matratze ist eher ein Futon und - mir persönlich- etwas zu hart zum Schlafen. Das ist aber auch eindeutig angegeben.Fazit: Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Zum Sitzen oder Ausruhen sehr bequem.

This futon is a fairly great value for the money. The color is not exactly and is much lighter than the listing photo. A lot different. The futon is somewhat easy to assemble however it is very heavy to lift from the packaging. I had to get a friend to help me. Additionally it is somewhat uncomfortable. I was not looking for it to be soft but is very firm. Finally it sits very low to the floor. I’ve given it four stars as it’s hard to complain much given the low price. Despite all this I do recommend it.

I have been pleasantly surprised with this couch. The assembly was very quick and straightforward, it looks great, and the futon function is really easy. It’s definitely firm, so not really a couch you can melt into and watch tv for hours and hours, but I think that’s obvious from the pictures. But it doesn’t feel like it will sag with time.
