Excellent Light Smooth Shifting and Can Use On a Double
Used on a double chainset 50/34 - 8 speed - it works very well. The lightest shift I have ever known. Very pleased. Replaces Claris FD-R2000 which was too tough from low to high due to the angle of pull on this bike - too acute. Claris is alright on another bike, though. BEWARE - it needs 30mm clearance from 90mm up from the chainstay to the seat tube. With some bikes, the rear wheel is too close to the seat tube for this derailleur.

SHIMANO Altus
I have a shimano derailleur that works well. But I wanted a new and shiny one. So I bought SHIMANO Altus 7/8 Speed MTB Hybrid Front Mech Gear Derailleur FDM310. After buying and trying to assemble it, I think it is a poor material, the front outer part as in the picture is aluminum. But most of the parts responsible for the operation of the derailleur are made of plastic. The durability of this is questionable. The mounting bracket for the bike frame is made of metal. But the added 4 washers, depending on the thickness of the frame, are 3 made of plastic and 1 made of metal. The screw that secures the derailleur rim to the frame is supposedly metal. But it broke when tightening. It broke halfway through tightening. Leaving part of the screw in the thread. Shimano used to be a brand. Now they cut costs to save money and produce poor quality toys
