**Q: Will this bag hold a 17.3" hp envy m7 gaming laptop (7 lbs.) and an ipad?**
A: Iqbal,Thanks for your question. The answer to your question, unfortunately, is no. I own one of these laptop cases myself and my 15 inch Dell Inspiron just fits.  So I'm sure 17.3 will not fit at all.

**Q: can you open the case and laptop  at the same time**
A: No

**Q: How is the bottom corner padding?**
A: The bottom corners have decent padding, but larger laptops will be more exposed. I have a 14" Dell widescreen laptop and it is protected very nicely during daily travel.

**Q: Is this case waterproof?**
A: Is this case waterproof? That's a question for the manufacturer.  My answer, having owned two of these over the past 17 years, is "I doubt it." Water-repellant? Probably. On my last bus journey, when rain was likely when I might be out in the open, I fashioned a plastic bag, upside down over it, just to make sure nothing inside got damp. It's a VERY GOOD case. But waterproof? Probably not.
