Very Loud
I've only had this horn for a few days now, so I can't comment on the longevity, but so far, it's been a great E-bike horn and is definitely worth the price. Very easy to install and is very loud. Has a piercing high pitch sound. I live in the mountains and ride a lot at night, and this horn definitely alerts the wildlife of my presence, and they vacate the area rather quickly. If you were driving in a car, you would definitely be alerted by this horn. Would recommend to a friend.

Excellent product!
Wow this thing is loud! Both the horn and siren type noise should be loud enough for anyone anywhere anytime. The pad with switch is fantastic too, either press for a quick blast or hold for a longer one. Mounting is very versatile which is awesome. Definitely worth the 40 bucks!!

Loud when it needs to be.
I'm a daily bike commuter and I've had this for 3 years. It's still working and I haven't even needed to change the batteries yet. It is loud enough to get the attention of drivers with their windows up which is really important. Little metal bells don't cut it with drivers. It has a simple, single-button interface. No switches or apps. I like that a quick tap makes a slightly less loud chirp for warning pedestrians and other bikers, otherwise I just lay on the horn to make sure that cars know I'm there. This is a must if you are sharing the road with cars.

Good, loud horn with only a few drawbacks
After dealing with several inattentive and distracted drivers nearly hitting me on my bike even though I wear bright colored clothing and lights on my bike and helmet, I really wanted something that would get jarring attention. This horn does the trick. I love that it has two settings, one which is a very loud and piecing siren sound, great for traffic, and a lower key sound for paths and trails to get attention of pedestrians without scaring them. The horn mounted easily with no issues. I originally mounted on the left handlebar, but had some convenience issues reaching around my bell. It was no issue remounting on the right handlebar where the activation button could be mounted closer to my grip. I only have a few small gripes. I wish it had a USB-C rechargeable battery so I could easily keep it charged link my headlight and tail light. Talking to a friend who recommended it though, he noted the batteries do not need replacing that often, so it should not be too much of a problem. I also would prefer the activation button and sound change button were a little better integrated. The wires plug in at an awkward position and are not very clean looking. The activation button can be mounted close to a grip but changing the sound is on the back of the horn and not on the activation button which is a little awkward. It would be better to have to activation buttons with different shapes for tactile control. Lastly, I wish there was some mounting adjustment for the angle of the horn. I had to mount the horn on a swept back portion of my handlebar so it does not point straight out. It would be nice if there was an adjustment on the mount to account for that, but in all fairness, I don't think it affects the operation or sound of the horn. Overall it is a good loud horn and it will serve me well.

It’s loud!
It’s super loud for such a tiny little thing! I put a Grealty bell on one side of my handlebars, and a Hornit Bike Horn on the other side. Now I can give a polite “ding ding” to people or scare away dogs! A couple of Velcro cable organizers are helpful for minding the cable between the mounting point and the thumb switch.

Mounts clean, not as loud as I hoped
Not as loud as advertised by a long shot. More of a chirping sound. It mounts very cleanly even without the included mounting kit. I already have a go pro mounted in front to a K-Edge bracket (same as Garmin) I would return but I threw out all the packaging. This is fine if you're looking for a better horn than a bell. I will still look for an air horn that is powered by a 12 volt battery pack.

A much needed horn to be heard by cars.

Best bike horn I have tried!
**Hornit dB140 Bike Horn, Upgraded V3 Model — Product Review** **Overall Score: 8 / 10** ----- **Sound Level — 9.5/10** This is the horn’s headline act, and it absolutely delivers. At 140 decibels, it’s claimed to be the loudest cycle horn on the market louder than the average car horn, which sits between 110 and 115dB. Two horn modes are included: “piercing mode,” a high-pitched 140dB dual tone designed for road use to be heard by drivers and pedestrians wearing headphones, and “horn mode,” a 121dB car horn-style sound designed for parks and trails. Be warned though the packaging itself states that prolonged or reckless use may cause permanent hearing damage, so this isn’t something to lean on casually in a quiet park. **Quality — 8/10** The exterior is mostly plastic with a flat black finish, sharp creases along the edges, and a thin rubber bumper around the rear that provides protection against falls or contact with other surfaces. It has a purposeful, understated look that won’t look out of place on any bike. Build quality holds up well over extended use riders report no significant issues even after a year or more of regular commuting. **Durability — 8/10** The horn is completely weatherproof, though not submersible, which is reassuring for commuters riding in unpredictable conditions. Hornit backs it with a minimum 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. The main durability concern raised by users is the wired trigger cable the cable can sometimes get tangled and risks damage over time, which is the V3’s most notable weak point. **Fit & Mounting — 8.5/10** The V3 upgrade brings a genuinely useful improvement here. Two handlebar mounts are included —one for bars with a diameter of 22–26mm with four differently sized spacers, and a second dedicated to 31.8mm diameter bars. The Garmin-style quarter-turn mount makes it easy to remove the horn when needed and allows you to swap it between bikes if both have a mount installed. The remote trigger is a smart safety feature it allows you to keep both hands on the handlebars while activating the horn in traffic. **Battery Life — 8.5/10** The dB140 runs on 2 AAA batteries rated for up to 12 months of normal use, based on six one-second blasts per day. For most commuters and recreational riders, that’s a very low-maintenance power requirement. **Price / Value — 8.5/10** The horn carries an affordable price point around $34.95 for what is genuinely a category-leading piece of safety equipment. Its robust build, ease of installation, and long battery life make it a worthwhile investment for any cyclist prioritizing safety. **Rider Experience — 7/10** The one area that divides opinion is comfort for the rider. Both volume settings can be uncomfortable for the person using it the 140dB mode is particularly piercing, and even the quieter 121dB setting is significantly louder than competing horns. Most reviewers suggest sticking to the 121dB mode, which is still plenty loud but has a more natural, recognizable sound that gets quicker reactions from pedestrians and drivers. ----- **Bottom Line:** The Hornit dB140 V3 is the gold standard for bike horns and a legitimate safety upgrade for urban cyclists. It’s loud enough to be heard through car windows and headphones alike, mounts securely to virtually any handlebar, and won’t drain your wallet. The wired trigger cable and ear-splitting volume on max mode are the only real gripes — but for city commuting or trail riding where being heard can prevent an accident, it’s hard to argue against it.

Great product. Recommended 👍🏻
Really great horn! Genuinely loud. 2 modes. I would say this is a necessity for safety while cycling. Not too difficult to install. Recommended 👍🏻
