Review: Works like witchcraft - I was just shocked by how effective this is. In part I was also mad at myself that it took me so long (my dog is 11 years old and has gotten increasingly more scared of thunderstorms in his old age) and so many tries with calming bites and vests and nothing worked, to have this thing work like witchcraft. At first I honestly didn’t even believe it. I had to see it work during multiple thunderstorms to believe how effective it is. When the storm starts and he is most scared, he still shakes even with the happy hoodie on and tries to take it off, but within 5-10min he is laying down and snoozing. What I found to be especially helpful is putting the happy hoodie on and using bird sounds on YouTube. I joke that I am considering wearing it myself for my own anxiety 🤣. I definitely recommend anyone giving it a try who has anxious dogs. The one minor con I have found is that it does come off of his head if he rubs on carpets or shakes, and it ends up around his neck. I guess it could be slightly tighter but honestly, it is quite tight and thick enough and it might just be something to work around. I usually take my dog to his bed, put the happy hoodie on and wait for him to calm down. Soon he’ll be sleeping and doesn’t even try to take it off anymore, so it stays in place. Regarding quality, it is really great, very thick but soft material.
Review: Absolutely love the happy hoodie!! - Just for reference my dog is an Australian cattle dog/catahoula/hound dog/supermutt/pit mix who weighs about 70lbs and I ordered the large happy hoodie. It fits pretty snug -but perfectly- for what we are using it for. It has plenty of stretch to accommodate any breed around his size. My dog has terrible allergies and he gets a bare minimum of 1 medicated bath a week. Hopefully one day when his immunotherapy has had enough time to work we won't have to bathe as often, but I think baths will always be a very big part of his life. It's very important that I dry him as thoroughly as possible because moisture causes his yeast to flare really badly. I recently purchased a forced air dog dryer and it's really loud. He was a good boy and behaved while being dried, but it is so loud when the air hits him that it hurts my ears, so I know it hurts his. He would move around a lot while trying to dry him. He tolerated the entire experience, but it was definitely not his favorite thing ever. I've seen the happy hoodie on the girl with the dogs for years, so after his first blow dry I knew I needed to order one. The difference it made was fantastic. It's like as soon as I put it on, he just froze in place. He was probably 90% less fidgety while I dried him this last time. I was even able to dry his face without him freaking out. He's pretty tolerant of anything I do, even if he doesn't care for it, but this just leveled up our game. I was concerned that his ears and head would still be really wet where the happy hoodie sits, but it was surprisingly dry when I took it off, the happy hoodie must have absorbed quite a bit of that water while I blow dried him. It really helped a ton while drying him and made the process much less stressful. If I had a second one I could even utilize it during his baths to keep him a little calmer. He has to stand and allow the shampoo to soak on him for 10 minutes and about 2 or 3 minutes in he starts crying. The only way he doesn't cry is if I sit and literally hold his paw the entire time lol. We just opened our outdoor shower for the season and it's a million times easier to bathe him there than inside, so I'm usually showering while he soaks. It's the most pitiful thing, he cries non stop the entire time he's waiting for a rinse. I think wearing the happy hoodie would help a ton! I don't know that he would tolerate wearing it for long periods of time, but if we ever have any ear drama I can see it coming in handy. He did try to remove it the first time I put it on him, but with some training I bet he would tolerate it as long as he was supervised. A: If at least 4 fingers fit comfortably between your pet's head and Happy Hoodie, it's not too tight. For dogs with overly thick necks, fold any excess fabric on the neck onto its head or use your pet's neck measurement for sizing to aid with comfort.

**Q: How does Happy Hoodie reduce noise for my dog? I put this on my head and I can still hear through the fabric.**
A: It's similar to closing off your ear canal by pressing your ear closed with your finger. With the pet's ears covering the ear opening, Happy Hoodie’s gentle compression on the ears closes off the ear canal, which results in reduced noise.

**Q: My dog pawed at it and caused some fraying. Will it still work or will the fraying cause it to fall apart?**
A: Since this is a knitted product, fraying can happen, but Happy Hoodie is very durable! If it gets frayed, it will still keep its stretch and compression and won’t “fall apart”. Just scissor off the frayed material and keep using it as intended.

**Q: I tried this on my dog when it arrived and she didn't seem to like it. What can I do to help her want to wear it?**
A: Like any calming aid, you won't know how effective it is until you use it when your dog is upset (most dogs are VERY appreciative when it's used during stressful times!). If she is still unsure, praise/treats are helpful positive reinforcement aids.

love this! We have a 60 pound staffy she does not like fireworks or thunderstorms, this happy hoodie does calm her down to a point. we got her a large wish we had gotten her an XL. I will say the pictures we got of her are priceless can't stop laughing when she has it on.
