I found best to apply on the head of a Q-tip and only apply to the discolored skin. It will kill anything it touches. So if you go beyond the spot you are applying to it will peel it away also. I apply to each spot. I find something to do for an hour or two without touching the sites with anything. Not even clothes. After that I put a junky long sleeve shirt on and wipe areas not covered by shirt with a junky towel. Go to sleep for the night. The next evening I shower and lightly luffa the areas applied to. The 2nd night I lightly luffa again. I do another application with the Q-tip and 2 hour no touch time. Then shirt back on and sleep the night away. For the next three or four days lightly luffa the areas. You will see the layer peel off during those last three to four days. So best to take a week that you will be OK to have darker dark spots. Half the brown spots on one hand are entirely gone, and all of them on both hands are definitely faded. I have four brown spots on my face, and I want to give a warning for anyone who has bought this. #1 DO NOT PEEL YOUR SKIN OFF when it starts working. It will look like the after effects of a sunburn. I don't care how tempting, leave it alone. I peeled off the little circle of skin on my face and it went red and started burning, and I was stupid enough to put this stuff right back on the spot despite it being raw. Oh my god.
