One more question. I am coming off of a 50 amp breaker inside the main panel can I simply swap out the 100 amp breaker in panel to a 50?

Sure. Going down in amperage is a no brainer. The other way around can cause problems. Say you went from a 100 amp to a 200 amp breaker, that is not a good idea.

Does this come with an inside cover that hides the wires when the panel door is open?

Yes, all wires are behind the panel with the switch. That is there is the cover to the box and then another panel covering the wires and only having the switch exposed.
