Hum, this item isn't really intended for pet use. It makes a great top edge fence boarder. Or it works well on a garden bench for decore. It warped with 8 pounds of Star Jasmine & hot sun so a dog it not what it's for. Try Safe Pet or Pet Safe they have kennel gated pieces that screw together.
