Very Disappointed
Even the very lightest of rain showers results in wet socks for me. I know they're not meant to be water-proof, but I expected some tiny semblance of water-resistance of which there is none whatsoever. Even walking through wet grass results in wet socks for me. I had "breathable" North Face walking shoes before and never experienced this level of incompetence with them.Perhaps I just have a defective pair as they are not fit for purpose as far as I'm concerned.

A thing of beauty.
These shoes are more like a friend to me than a material possesion. What I love about them is the older and more beaten they get the better they look. For some reason all shoes i have owned before start to look terrible after they have been used for some time, these still look good to me 13 months in after heavy daily use for work 10 hours per day 5 days a week as a courier. Theyve been used in snow, rain, and on all surfaces. I wish the toe piece was leather or something elsw other than the black synthetic material as they have holes and cracks in them now but not to the point where I cant still use them. The vibram sole are now flat without grip but still plenty of thickness in them. The sole also has become unglued in some parts but still usable. They seem to have lasted twice as long as other. shoes so far and I rekon they will last about 18mths total for me. If the toe piece didnt crack and the sole had no glue issues I would give 5 stars. They are very comfortable and once you have worn these there is no turning back. No other shoe compares it is indeed The Mother of All Boots. I have bought a second pair now.

Extremely disappointing
I have worn Merrell Moab 1 for the past 7 years , the most comfortable out of the box walking shoe I have ever worn and I average 70 miles per week. This new Moab 2 was uncomfortable from day one and I immediately started to get blisters, heel pain and foot arch pain. After 3 months the situation has not improved and I am now wearing old Moab 1 as I search for a new brand. I could not be more dissapointed as a long standing and loyal customer to dreading walking in them. How could Merrell ruin such a fantastic shoe.

Decepcionado

The size dilemma, free returns
Due to the sizing issues with this shoe, my best advice is to obtain a good deal with free returns. I happily paid £63 on Amazon with free returns 😊I have wide feet and usually take a size 9UK in Clarks, Asics & Brooks. Buying shoes online tends to be hit & miss, especially with having wide feet. After reading other reviews of the Merrell Moab 2 Vent, my best guess was a 9.5UK.For the first 1000 steps around the house I found the left shoe perfect and the right a bit nippy around the toes. After a first 10k walk, mostly on pavements, I've experienced the same, although the tighter right shoe seems to be loosening up. Most importantly, I don't have any blisters and overall I loved my first walk in these. Like others have mentioned, the shoes are very stable and grippy. They are also extremely comfortable. From my first experience, I suggest going a half size up if wearing trainer socks and going for short walks and a full size up for thicker socks and long walks.Free returns is essential unless you are confident about your size.
