WORKS FANTASTIC MOORING TO A TREE LIMB!
I went kayak fishing on a small lake on a cold day and it was very windy with gust up to 35 mph. I was enjoying moving around the lake and paddling to different areas and letting the current & wind drift me. Then I decided I wanted to stay in one spot for a while, so I paddle over to where a tree had fallen into the water and clamped this onto the tree limb and tied it onto my little eyelet on the pelican kayak. The more the boat drifts away, and the line pulls the tighter the clamp gets around the tree because of the way the line loops on the opposing side of the clamp jaws, including instructions are very useful for knowing how to thread. The cord. It comes with 15 feet of black nylon cord. Thatโs fine for this, but I happen to have a large roll of orange reflective cord, the same color as the clamp, that I use for camping trips. I replaced the black cord with this orange reflective cord in case I ever need to see it at night And for higher visibility during the day. You can tie it off at any length up to 15 feet or you can replace the cord like I did with a longer one, but I donโt know why you would need to get that far out and pull yourself back in. I measured off the new cord with the supplied cord and made it 15 feet as well. This clamp has a very sturdy spring and is very strong. If you want to tie and clamp your boat or kayak up to something, it is quite useful. Maybe I can update a photo later but I didnโt think about taking a photo of the clamp on the tree limb while out, but itโs big enough to go to many limb sizes medium to small. In a kayak or small fishing boat, this clamp and cord combo is quite capable. I highly recommend it.

Best purchase ever.
Best purchase of year. It looks not fancy as I want, but it works really good. Incredible. If you are new to kayak fishing, highly recommend. Life saver.

Easy to store and smaller than bulky anchors
Arrived promptly..large strong and appeares durable.. what i was looking for as i like to anchor my boat by tying off to over hanging trees thereby freeing up the surrounding area to fish and avoid snagging the anchor line also small and easier to store than large heavy anchors although I will keep the anchors aboard for open water, emergency and other situations.

Wow grip
This thing is great,it is a learning curve to attach while a current is pulling you around, but the grip is fantastic. It's also easy to unripe. I've used it attached to the front of my kayak and have put the grip in a extra pocket on a cup holder... it's hilarious, looks like I'm going to jump start it....

Stay where the fish are !!!
Works great . You can clip it onto a branch or a clump of phragmites or a dock . Tie the other end off to your kayak or canoe or other small boat and you will stay in place until you are ready to move . I don't go out kayak fishing without it !!

Must-Have For Rivers
I purchased one of these for myself to float along the river and take breaks as I need, works much better than a traditional weighted anchor in my experience. Weighted anchors you run a risk of flipping yourself and you try to reel them back in, and then they run the risk of getting snagged on something unseen underwater. This is so much easier and frankly makes my trips more enjoyable when I bring this. I liked mine so much I showed it to my buddy and now he bought one too! (Can't recommend enough!!)

Doesn't work
Took out of the box and the clamp doesn't close after you open it. Have to manually close it with two hands, not user-friendly.
