Is this a hcl creatine?

Kre-Alkalyn is a patented pH correct form of Creatine phosphate. Kre-alkalyn was created to address the negative side effects of creatine monohydrate, namely the toxic conversion to the by-product creatinine. Creatinine is a corollary of creatine metabolism and can cause negative side effects such as water retention, bloating, and muscle cramps.

By adding an alkaline powder such as (soda ash, magnesium glycerol phosphate, bicarbonate) to ordinary creatine monohydrate, it stabilizes the acidity level between 7-14, making it more bioavailable and inhibiting the process of creatinine conversion.

Creatine helps supply muscles with energy for short-term, predominantly anaerobic activity. Most commercial creatine supplements contain creatine as the monohydrate salt (appx. 88% creatine by weight), which requires a lot of water to absorb. The hydrochloride (HCl) form is more soluble and absorbs with less water. Some experts suggest that completely dissolving creatine monohydrate in water or liquid before ingesting minimizes the difference to make the creatine better absorbed and thus more tolerable. Most clinical studies on creatine have been done on the more popular monohydrate form. Buffered creatine, such as the patented Kre-Alkalyn® that we also offer, supplies a pH-buffered creatine that’s stable throughout the GI tract, which may prevent its breakdown and allow it to enter the muscle tissue fully potent, thus effectively eliminating the potentially uncomfortable stomach distress, gas, and bloating that is sometimes associated with standard creatine supplements and working at a lower serving size. The buffered form is especially recommended for those concerned about their GI tolerance of creatine.

Is 'kre-alkalyn creatine' the same as creatine hcl with just a different name?

They are two different products.  Kre-alkaline creatine is a pH corrected form that decreases the acidity and make it more bioavailable, meaning you need to take less for the same, or better gains.  It eliminates bloating and stomach upset as well as increasing endurance, VO2 max and strength.
