Review: Half-Inch Wide Medical Tape - First, this tape is 1/2" wide, while the 1" wide size is more commonly used. It was a bit jarring when I found I'd ordered this width, but it's turned out to be a non-issue. This is a 3M product, which tells me that it's going to perform. How? Mainly to protect surgical dressings for bathing. I use kitchen plastic wrap to cover the dressing, then apply the plastic tape around all the edges to keep the plastic wrap in place. Note that this tape is NOT "waterproof" to the extent that no water can ever get under it. In fact, I find that a little dampness around the edges of the tape helps remove it. But it IS moderately flexible, so it will move with the body part you apply it to. Plastic tape's adhesives are stubborn, and if left on the skin for too long they can cause irritation or skin damage. For MY purpose (covering dressings for bathing) the tape is only on the skin for 30-40 minutes, and it comes off easily without damaging the skin. Other uses for this kind of tape, such as for securing a dressing to the skin, can be problematic, so use the tape carefully, and keep an eye out for irritation.

First, this tape is 1/2" wide, while the 1" wide size is more commonly used. It was a bit jarring when I found I'd ordered this width, but it's turned out to be a non-issue. Good product, shipped in a plastic bag (no box) severely CRUSHED and horrible. So now it doesn't go where I need it to store in multiple places. How was MY money, did it spend okay? Maybe find a different seller.
