Worth the price

I don’t know if this product works. It’s only been a week and I don’t notice a difference. I might come back and update my review. But I am upset at myself because I feel ripped off. I paid $19.99 for a teeny weeny 1/2 ounce tube sold by NaturalBeautyInc. See photo. The listing is a bit misleading as far as size is concerned. But I guess it was my fault for not being more diligent.

I’m not really one for writing reviews. The only other retinol product I’ve ever used was the one by Drunk Elephant which I really did not enjoy at all. I decided to give this retinol cream a try since I just turned 30 years old and this product was affordable with 30,000 reviews. I have oily and dry combination skin where my forehead, nose and cheeks get very oily during the day. This cream is pretty thick and it does feel moisturizing and nourishing. It says to use it twice a day but even with a mattifying sunscreen, it still left me incredibly greasy during the daytime, so using it once a day works for me. I like to use this product at night before going to bed. It doesn’t have an added scent to it. It does smell similar to a cream I’ve tried from Cetaphil though, so if you have a strong nose, it’s a very light scent. There’s also no burning or tingly sensation from the retinol itself, which is really nice compared to the retinol serum I had from Drunk Elephant. It gives me more of incentive to keep using it :) My skin isn’t very sensitive so I can’t say much for whether it would work for sensitive skin. The best part about using this product every night for the past week was that the large pores on my oily cheeks are distinctly smaller within a couple days of using it. Is it an effect of retinol? Or an effect of how nourished my skin got overnight while I slept with the cream? Who knows? I am loving how my skin looks though! I bought this in 0.5 fl oz to try it out originally. Once I run out, I will definitely repurchase in a larger size :)

I ordered on March 2nd. I've been using it twice a day (as instructed) since I got it. I'm not a fan of the smell, it's a very odd smell, can't describe it. It smooths on well, no issues there. It makes my face feel nice and smooth...for about 30 minutes. After that, my face feels dry and tight. A few times I reapplied it but got the same results. After an hour, I can't stand it anymore and end up using my regular face cream. I don't see any difference on my face since using this product. I know that a product might work for one but not another. So this isn't a slam to the product, it simply doesn't work for me. I will say that I'll continue using it (and my cream) until the tube is gone. It doesn't make me break out or anything so there's no harm. It was overpriced for such a small amount (my opinion) so I can't just throw it away.

So far I like it! It’s gentle and does not cause breakouts on my extremely sensitive skin. It’s a nice cream that isn’t too thin and it sinks into the skin within a few minutes. I’m using it at night so I just wait a bit before putting my face near my pillow. My skin looks nice and clear and I believe it’s more firm. Will write another review when I order another tube but giving this a thumbs up and VERY cost effective!!
