Great for beginners like me, or those with simple needs
This thing is great for flux core steel. I am a beginner welder, and I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a welder right out of the gate. It's wonderful to be able to weld steel for so little money, and on a regular 110 volt circuit. I had literally never welded before I bought this machine. I have now crafted several projects with this, and with a minimal of practice really feel like I have dialed it in to get some pretty nice-looking and strong welds. Keep in mind that flux core welding will never yield the much-desired "stacked dimes" look, so if you are hung up on such things then you'd best look for a welder that allows gas shielding. But if you are happy with less attractive welds (by the commonly accepted definition), I highly recommend this welder. The included mask and brush/hammer tool are pretty worthless. It's nice that they include them, and the mask would be good for observers or helpers, but you'd really better get a mask or helmet that can mount to your head to work with. Holding the handle of the mask while welding would really be a pain. And the hammer/brush combo doesn't feel very durable, nor does it have enough weight to really be very adequate. I am not reducing stars on my rating for these things, because these are really just bonus items.

Great product for the price!
NEW UPDATE!! JULY 2024 --- STILL WORKS!! I LOVE THIS THING. this is the perfect welder for a home handyman like myself. I lend it out to friends, it has run at least 6 coils of wire, and all is good still. First review 2017: This is my first welder. I learned on a Lincoln Electric MIG I think for a day. At first I was having trouble getting a good bead with this welder but my buddy came over and gave me a quick lesson and i started to lay down decent welds. I am no Michelangelo, but it is going well and I love this welder. Great deal for the price! I will add photos once I grind up some pieces and will show the comparison between raw and polished welds for anyone who cares. I am currently making a ski rack for the bed of my truck. I read most of the reviews on this product and saw that very few had problems and the only issue I saw was the wire feed motor dying so I figured cross my fingers and hope for the best. Its been two weeks of almost daily use and so far so good!

Works Well-But Here Are a few Tips
Like many other reviewers, I know next to nothing about welding. I was apprehensive, but the first time up I was able to successfully join two 1 1/2” pieces of square tube together with a strong (though ugly) weld. This thing works and works well. A couple of tips I picked up from an online video (I don’t remember the site but he deserves the credit. Sorry.) First, the mystery of the two switches on the front labeled "high/low” and “1/2”: there are four power settings which are enabled by their relative positions. When switched to low and 1, the lowest power setting is enabled. Switch to low and 2, and the second lowest setting is enabled. Switch to high and 1 and it’s the third highest setting. Finally, high and 2 give you the highest setting. Another tip from the video is this: the shroud around the tip of the wire at the business end of the welder is really unnecessary. On a mig welder this is used to direct the gas to the weld. Since this is a flux core welder which uses no gas it can be removed so you can actually see the wire and its contact with the joint better. (The manual that accompanies the welder has been badly translated into broken English and gives very little instruction on using the machine. It instructs you put the shroud on the tip before welding but other than looks and perhaps some legal reason it works better without it. Go ahead and buy this machine. For the price and ease of use it is a no-brainer.

I have a few hours of welding in with my new Goplus and it welds nice and steady
After using a friends MIG welder to fix my exhaust I decided to look online for one of my own. This inexpensive little Welder not only does the job, it has more options to control speed, temp, and to up the voltage than the one I borrowed. I have a few hours of welding in with my new Goplus and it welds nice and steady. Check your breakers AMP to meet the welding needs before using the higher settings. I worked between exhaust pipe and welding heavy metals together no problem. Had to contact the company about a slight problem and they were great. Customer service contacted me immediately and even sent emails over the weekend. That says a lot to me. Thank you, I like this well made product and appreciate the very prompt and courteous folks at Superbuy. Would defiantly recommend this as a solid MIG welder for the price.

Poor quality/no customer support for parts
Do not waste your money!! I bought this unit for the same reason your probably looking at it for, because it’s cheap! We’ve all heard the saying, “you get what you pay for” this is a prime example. I bought one for me and my dad just to have for small little projects around the house, neither one of us use it very much at all. Welded through one 1lb spool of wire and before I could finish my second spool it stops feeding wire. My dads welder just stopped feeding the wire as well, and he’s been able to used only about half of the spool of wire that comes with the unit. Extremely poor quality, and there are no aftermarket parts available anywhere online for this unit. After quite a bit of research, and a phone call to the manufacturer, a company called goplus, I was informed that I could only submit a claim via email. I send the an email explaining issues, and that I’m will to pay for whatever replacement parts are needed if it’s no longer under warranty. They replied back requesting all kinds of information from me, including order number, order date, order address, and even the tracking number. After providing everything they asked for, they replied again saying, “unfortunately we can’t replace the part you need, I hope you understand, have a great day.” That was it! After 5 days of back and forth, (cause they took a day or two to respond between each reply), and making me jump through hoops, just to send that short cut throat response. I’ve also uploaded the same exact video I sent the manufacturer showing my issues. Do yourself a favor and get a trusted brand with a warranty, that will last, and that actually has a customer support team that can actually solve problems.

Great tool, better value as the price was very good!
Got this for my husband for Christmas as he needed a welder for his "project car" and never got around to buying one & I must say, I wasn't disappointed! He loves it! It's small enough to carry around yet works great. It comes with the nozzle & wire & a few other things tucked away in the ingeniously designed compartment on top of the welder where it's securely kept. The compartment latches easily. He and his friend have spent hours using his new welder. I'd get pictures but it's in his garage, safely stored while he works. He's a mechanic though, and gets a lot of use out of this and says it's good quality & the price is unbeatable! The mask that's included he don't use often, but he didn't want a handheld one, which is fine.

Good to get started, but expect to replace it.
Worked great through the sample spool of wire it comes with. Unfortunately, the feed motor died after a few welds on a fresh spool. Luckily, this particular model has a replaceable feed assembly.

great machine, not so great user
i purchased this unit a little over 7 months ago. it was my first welder, and i knew nothing. that being said, after about 7 million youtube videos, and about twenty pounds of wire i still know nothing, but im getting there. it took a pretty long time, but eventually i realized that most of the issues i had with this unit were me. the settings werent dialed in correctly, i had no idea how to properly prep a weld, i had no idea how to weld a weld... that being said this machine absolutely has issues. i feel like the wire drive motor struggles at times when using with the higher amperage settings, it sorta stutters. its an AC machine, which is not ideal, there is a ton of spatter, and it doesnt sound as "even" as i expected.... but its dirt cheap, so whatever. the ground clamp was pitiful, and as soon as i changed it i noticed an appreciable increase in performance. the wire (for me) was absolute junk. just 100% useless in my experience. the face mask was so obviously useless that even a first timer like me knew it had to get tossed in the trash pile. over all as a cheap intro to welding, or something to have around for small jobs i think this welder fits the bill. but dont let that lead you to believe theres not a learning curve, because there absolutely is. just because its a simplified machine doesnt mean that the welding itself is dumbed down, there is still alot to learn about getting the most out of it.
