Good quality and functional
I have three of these in my yard. They do leak, but you can minimize it with waterproofing. They are compact but hold 100 feet of hose easily. It's easy for me to roll the hose up even though I'm old. To me they're a good value because it's good quality for the cost, and mine have lasted 10+ years. You can't beat that!

It's a good hose reel at a good price.
The Suncast 100' hose reel is inexpensive, works well, and my old one lasted over ten years. The reel finally burst and water was gushing out of it. I thought the old reel was irretrevably broken and I ordered a new one. But when removing the old one I discovered that the short leader hose got brittle and burst. I could have just replaced the leader hose. Everything else looked to be in fairly good condition, even the O-rings. So I installed the new one but kept the old one and will plan on using it at another station. I read other reviews that complained about the leader hose kinking. But my old one never kinked, and the new one did not kink. Perhaps the whoever installed it did not route it carefully. It's a decent hose reel for a decent price. Most other hose reels seem to be enclosed inside a box. That will turn into a spider nest and also you won't be able to carefully wind the hose neatly onto the reel. Enclosures seem like a bad idea to me.

Good value if you want to try having a hose reel + excellent warranty
UPDATE JUNE 4 2020: Have used this reel continuously since purchasing it in May 2017. A few days before the 3-year warrantee expired, the plastic elbow where the garden hose connects developed a pinhole leak. I notified Suncast on their web site, emailed a photo of the problem and purchase documentation they requested, and received a free replacement of the entire assembly yesterday. Replaced the parts in 15 minutes and this reel once again works like new. They even enclosed a silicone lubricant pack to protect the O-rings and help maintain a watertight seal when the reel rotates. Considering the average annual cost of less than $10 for this Suncast product so far, I’ll probably buy another one when this one can no longer be repaired economically. Kudos to Suncast for having Customer Service reps that back up their warranty. ORIGINAL REVIEW 2017: This is an inexpensive hose reel, all made of plastic, so you can try the idea out and see if you like it. You do need to mount it and attach the hose ends with care: if you stress the plastic or cross thread it, it will break. I followed the instructions to a T and have had no problems in the past month. It doesn't leak at all, the reel is easy enough to wind up that the lack of any bearings isn't an issue, and it keeps the hose off the ground and neatly organized. I expect to get a couple of years out of this item and by then I'll know if it's worth it to me to pay 5-10 times as much for a metal version with bearings, hose guide, etc. Like many others, I can only get about 50 feet worth of mid-quality hose on the reel, but that's all I need. The only way I can see to get 100 feet would be to buy the cheapest, smallest diameter hose you can find.

Broke on first use.
I bought this last year as it was getting cold so decided to wait for Spring to install it. I never open the box and stored it in the garage. I know better now to hurry and begin to use a product as soon as you buy it to make sure you can return it before that "window" closes! Now that I have it on the wall and tested I must say I am disappointed. The only thing "strong" about this is the bracket where it mounts to the wall; As far as everything else is concerned, it is a matter of what will break first! (1) The entire assembly slides onto a 3/4" plastic post which makes it removable (a nice feature in theory); but this is something just waiting to break off and leave the entire thing useless. (2) Where your hose screws onto the unit is a black plastic elbow that sticks out about an inch - I would have more faith if this elbow were flexible or not an elbow at all but a molded part of the unit - I see this breaking off the first time someone yanks on the hose when fully off the reel trying to get to a distant plant. (3) I rolled a 50' never-kink hose (with no water in it) on this and it barely fit, with the last few rolls about to fall off the reel. In all fairness the hose is a 3/4" diameter but I thought at 50' it should fit. Anyway... I put a nozzle on the hose and just wanted a little water, so (without un-reeling 50' of hose) I turned the pipe on with the hose still on the reel ------- BiiiGGgg mistake - Simultaneous things started to happen - the water started to make the hose swell up on the reel while also increasing the weight of the hose with all the water in it - I heard cracking sounds as the reel slowly spread apart from the force of the swelling hose, then a louder crack as the clip that holds the reel on gave way from the weight, then of course a spray of water from everywhere to indicate that this unit just broke! This is the story these days about every product on the market, they are not even trying to make them strong enough to last a single season, they just need them to last 30 days so you can't return it any more. If anyone has a 50 year old rusty hose reel for sale I am interested!

Pretty good, depending on price
It's a well designed, fairly well made product that can save a lot of trouble organizing your hose. The positive things are that it doesn't leak, it attaches and detaches very easily, it's very simple to install (as long as you're not afraid of punching screws into the side of your house), and it winds and unwinds smoothly. The minus side is that the molded plastic has a lot of burrs and imperfections, and is a quality and color that doesn't exactly say million dollar mansion - it's fine for out back or the side of a shed but I wouldn't put it in an obvious place on the deck. Also, the fittings are not high quality - the connector hose is thin, too short, and cheap, and the way it installs it's almost guaranteed to form a kink. I bought an extra hose fitting to get around that. Also, as other have noted, 100 feet is optimistic. I have a 25 foot hose that takes up half the reel if I wind loosely. You would have to wind it very carefully to get 100 feet on there. Amazon shows a list price of $128, which is ridiculous. I would call my congressman and ask for an investigation on that one. When I bought it, it was $30, which is a steal - well worth that price, a bargain really. Today I see it's listed at $56.95, which is too much. I would pay $40-$45 for this item. Any more than that and it's a pass.

It works!
I purchased this hose reel to replace a previous one I have had for over 10 years and had started to leak a little. I really like this reel for the following reasons: 1) it is relatively compact and easily attaches to an outside wall; 2) the reel makes it easy to extend and then wind the hose back up and accommodates the amount of hose that I need for my purposes: 3) It is easy to take off the wall and store in the basement for the winter. One issue I had with the original reel was that the plastic water feed on reel cracked and started to leak but I was able to patch it. I looked at several options but decided to go with this one since my experience had been mostly positive.

No wobble but warped reel
I have 2 other Suncast hose reels. They have served me well. The o-rings have been replaced for one of them. They were stretched. No doubt because the reel wobbles on the hub. This new one doesn't wobble but one of the sides is a bit warped. However, I'll keep it since it works ok and it took 17 days to arrive. Pls note Amazon, we cannot get replacement o-rings from Canada because Suncast only ships to the continental USA. However, dare I say, eBay can supply them.
