Big smith has been the working man's bib since 1916. These classic work styles are strong, durable, and comfortable.

Warning: Prepare to be lusted after!!!!!
I struggle with BCODS (butt crack on display syndrome). I figured overall would dramatically reduce my neighbors' exposure to my butt crack when working in my front yard. Boy was I right! No more butt crack! Now mind you, I decided to wear these without a shirt and my impeccable new-found style was a topic of discussion at my wife's job. A job she still has, so it must not have been all that bad.Sizing these bad boys was the ticky part. I'm about 5'11'' 250lbs and wear size 40/30 jeans. Initially I picked up 40/30 and 42/30 dickies. WAY too small. Exchanged for 44/30 46/30 and 48/30 of the Big Smith. 44/30 did the trick. Sent the rest back.Pros: No visible butt crack; Look like a stud when worn without a shirt.Cons: Having everyone so attracted to me took some getting used to.Summary: Very comfortable. Very stylish. Highly recommend.I received absolutely nothing in exchange for this review. If the review helped you, please click 'helpful'. Thanks for reading!

Pay attention to size.
Should have ordered next size up. The shoulders straps should be longer. I have them adjusted all the way out, and wish I had more. It fits a bit snug in the waist, but is perfect in length. I'm just not sure if I can blame first time washing shrinkage (100% cotton). If you want to be a wanna-be-farmer like me, and if you want to proudly wear your made in America "Big Smith", be advised that these are made in Vietnam. Overall, it barely fits. I am 5'7" at 200 lbs. If you have a tummy that is bigger than your waist, you have to go by your tummy size, and consider shrinkage when washed. I saw these listed somewhere for twice the money, perhaps they were made in America. One last thing: They look exactly like in the picture--they don't look like the stone washed effect, as in other brands, but rather an even, solid color, if that is important.

Great Overalls
I hope people will read this 2015 review. It seems that they have updated these overalls to more reflect your normal jeans size. I read the older reviews and ordered two sizes up with a shorter inseam, and I had to return them because they were too big around the middle and a little too short. Now you do have to order a size that will fit around your actual waist and not low-rise style. I will leave that to you. I exchanged for my normal jeans size, and they fit perfectly. I am 5'11" and weigh around 225lbs.

6 month review
Over the last 6 months, I have worn these overalls for hard labor as well as casual wear. All and all they have proven to be a quality product, as the denim, stitching, and clasps show no signs of failure. This is what really matters to me, and for that reason I am a satisfied customer. Now for my nit-picking, and the reasons I withheld a star:1. These overalls are anything but stonewashed. They are a rich and solid blue, through and through (as pictured). Why call these "stonewashed"? I hope mine take on a stonewashed look with age, but even after 6 months of wear they still look pretty much like what you see in the picture.2. I think the side button eyelets (maybe there is a name for those?) could be a hair tighter. Its not a frequent problem, but sometimes when I am working I look down to notice that one side has come undone, and my coworkers have a prime view of the sides of my boxer shorts under my shirt.

Most comfortable bibs I've owned
I've had Liberty, great when they were about worn out and soft. But shrinking was a big issue. Dryer beware.I had dickies, good bibs. But, I have long legs and a short torso. The front came up to high. No shrinking.I had carhartt, tough material. To thick and to hot. Good luck wearing them out. Clips were cheap. These Smiths feel and fit great. Front is lower, because its lower I don't feel so hot. Love the pockets for my pen and pencil on the front. Side pockets on the legs are bigger (a first) my cell phone goes in the right side. My can of snuff in the left leg. Before I had to put my phone in the front pocket, my snuff can barely went in the leg pocket.Fit, great. I wear 42 W. I ordered 42 W.One person had a gripe about these not lasting if you do rough work all day. I can see the knees not lasting to long. Other than that I don't see it. Sew some patches in the knees when they wear thin.

Fits perfect!! Im a 36 - 30
Fits perfect!! Im a 36 - 30, so I ordered 40 - 30, the fit was great, a little loose, perfect length, but they will shrink a little then the waist will be exact. I've worn BigSmith for years, great stitching, great material, the metal hardware it better than all the rest. Won't bend, or break.if you need bibs I believe Bis Smith is the best. I'm ordering 2 more pairs today, great to work in.

From Carthage MO to Russia to Vietnam
I grew up near Carthage MO where the Big Smith factory was for 80 years after its founding in 1916, 100 years ago. I never saw my grandfather wearing anything else, unless he was going to church. I flashed on this memory over a decade ago, bought a pair, and was astonished to see that they were made in Russia! My grandfather lived to be 97, but I'm glad he never saw that. He would have been scornful.I've outgrown my Russian pair in the waistline, but they didn't wear out. My new pair is made in Vietnam, but the only difference I can see in their construction or quality is that they have a zipper fly instead of buttons. I know of nothing as comfortable as bib overalls and stay true to the Big Smith brand, even though it has been globalized to survive.

About the 4th washing mental on straps broke
i have bought 4 pares of these overalls for my husband and 2 of my husbands friends. He loves them so much that I have to tell him to ware something different. I pulled the overalls from the dryer and notice the mettle on the stap was missing. Than I pulled my shirt and a pare of my pants out and the had little wholes in them bolth. And at the bottom of the washer was the metal clips. I am so bummed out. That was only the third or fourth time they had been walshed. I am trying to find some one to sow new ones on for me.i would do it myself but I am blind.
