We purchased this to install instead of hiring a contractor to core drill the concrete for handrail requiring stanchions. The Vevor was the only handrail we could find at a reasonable price that is a surface mount.The pros:Comes with a padded cover to protect hands from hot sun. Living in Hawaii, this is a necessity.Easy to install and size is perfect for our pool.Once mounted, it seems to be quite sturdy. Keep in mind you will need a good hammer drill to drill holes in the concrete. I have a Dewault 1 1/8" model that made drilling as easy as cutting butter with a hot knife.The cons:After 3 months, the "stainless" is getting rust spots. As a retired engineer who has experience dealing with stainless steel, there is a lot of so-called stainless steel from China that is not the same as equivalent manufactured in the USA. The handrail is not magnetic, which indicates it is 100% stainless (probably type 304), so I think the rust spots are surface rust, most likely attributed to using sanding/polishing materials that were contaminated with carbon rust. I haven't had a chance to polish it off yet, but am pretty confident that I can remove with clean uncontained wet/dry sandpaper.The lag shields are just cheap plated carbon steel and lag bolts supplied are not pure stainless, so I purchased stainless lag bolts and zinc plated lag shields.Overall, for the price we're pretty pleased and would recommend.I would have given it higher ratings if not for the rust spots.
