Great upgrade
I had to dent the hood a little for the hood to shut completely, but it works great!

Looks great too bad it will not fit.
I really wanted this product to work . I installed the assembly like the picture included. The passenger side ran into interference with the battery. I switched the left and right brackets and moved the battery over for clearance. The gas springs bottomed out too soon even after moving the brackets further apart. The gas shocks still bottomed out early even though installed them at fully extended.

Only need to setup one side and flip the rod to the inside like my picture.
Please read reviews for the proper way to install on 300zx ! Worked wonderfully on mine.

This does not work for this Vehicle.
The Hood doesn't shut.

Very good product.
Worked swell on my Z, granted I only used one and had to figure out how to make it work properly so the hood wouldn't bulge, but I got it!

Does not allow the hood to close
The lower brackets are way too long. I will be able to make it work with some modifications but it does beat buying the 200 dollar one.

Not bad for a cheap alternative.
The good: Bolt holes lined up on both hood and body brackets, and I appreciate the sticky paint savers they sent with it. Brackets are thick and sturdy. The odd: the universal-ish hood brackets are a bit long and stick out further than the hood hinges which look weird, but it doesn't hurt anything. The bad: the shocks are too strong for an aluminum hood (oem 300zx). I'm currently running one shock only. Also the body bracket angle is off by about 30 degrees inward and slightly too high up, and shock had to be flipped to the inside for the hood to close properly. (See video) Ease of install: 10 mins with no instructions. Super simple. (The instructions were just a single picture of the winfactory version anyway) Summary: For 30ish bucks it works fine with one shock, (vs 129.99 for the Winfactory version) and best of all...no more crappy hood prop! I'd definitely recommend it for a budget alternative.
