Is it 1/4" measured on the outside? Is it the twist measurement of the threads?

Neither, the thread is 1/4 National Pipe Thread. (NPT)

I have a travler tec , air gauge whitch quit working will this fit mine ?

Can you unscrew your gauge? It needs to have a 1/4 in wide thread to match the one on this gauge. If your broken gauge has 1/4 wide thread then this on e will work.

Why no instructions on how to locate battery compartment. Had to go to utube to find similar product?
