The rear camera I previously had was practically useless at night because of the constant lens flare and lack of self-adjusting exposure. Now with this replacement rear camera, it is a huge improvement. I can now actually determine what lane other cars are behind me are in at night while producing a great quality image, and greatly reducing lens flare. It was also pretty easy to install since it was pretty much plug and play with my existing wiring connected to my JADO rear view mirror camera.

I purchased this to pair with another brand dash cam. The rear camera that came with my dash cam had poor low light performance and bloomed out when headlights hit the camera. This camera lives up to its claim that it can clearly read a license plate number at night even with headlights shining. It was worth the few dollars more in performance.

Expensive but it manage light focus very well

I've been using the VanTop H612T 12" 4K Mirror Dash Cam since August 2020, primarily because I needed a better nighttime WDR rear camera. After some research, I stumbled across this model. There’s been some talk about VanTop rebranding as Wolfbox, but I bought this camera knowing it had a 4-pin connector. To my surprise, the 4-pin connector worked seamlessly with my existing cable—no need to deal with re-wiring.The main reason for the upgrade was nighttime visibility, and the camera delivered. As shown in the uploaded images, there’s no more “nighttime blowout” where headlights overwhelm the view. The WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) seems to be active at all times, or perhaps the image sensor has some extra bit-depth because the nighttime performance is far superior to my older rear camera. The only minor observation is that during the day, the clouds can appear slightly oversaturated with a bit of unnatural color tone, likely due to WDR processing. It’s a trade-off I’m happy with since critical details remain visible, and the overall image quality is still excellent.Some reviewers have mentioned that the daytime color balance is slightly saturated. To me, it looks fine. Daytime visuals remain clear, and most importantly, the camera reliably captures critical information. The trade-off is well worth it for the huge improvement in nighttime performance.The images I shared were taken straight from the video recordings, and they speak for themselves. If you’re using an older rear camera that struggles with blown-out highlights or poor visibility at night, this dash cam is a must-have upgrade. You won’t regret it.

Direct replacement for the G840S. Picture does appear to be sharper. Lets hope the durability was upgraded too. Wolfbox already bought me two of the originals under warranty. This is on a RV that only sees monthly use. Maybe I should keep a spare one for next time.

The media could not be loaded. La verdad hay que dársela, al principio vi algunos píxeles pero fue natural por la oscuridad que había, pero hoy salí a probarla y quedé atónito. Realmente las luces de los vehículos se les disminuye el brillo y la nitidez de la imagen superó a otra Full HD que tenía. Sé que es muy pronto para concluir pero espero que sea duradera porque me encanta la imagen que tiene. Mis respetos!

This is not a direct replacement of you have the G900 tripro. The camera plug is wrong and this one plugs into the AV port which is already being used by the bumper cam. The original backup cam uses a usbc plug on the G900 tripro.

The media could not be loaded. I have used the standard camera for several years. Daytime quality is great with the standard camera. Nighttime for rear view mirror use is mostly useless unless you are alone on the road. Headlights on the freeway are unbearable. I shut off the display for nighttime use using my side mirrors instead.This upgrade looks better in a single detail at night. Color. The standard camera reverts to gray scale video in low light.This upgrade is far from good for nighttime use. Bummer.
