Polly Plastics Rock Tumbler Grit Refill, Final Polish 1200 Fine Aluminum Oxide, Stage 4 for Tumbling Stones (2 Pack) (3 lb.)

Excellent product

I get an excellent polish with this 1200 grit. Rocks come out way shinier than when using other polish brands. For instance the Rockshed 1000 grit results in dull rocks in comparison. The Rockshed grit color is gray and under a high powered microscope you can see contamination, black particles, which make the overall color of the grit gray. Aluminum oxide, with high purity, should be white.

I was using a Step 4 product from another company and it just didn't leave my rocks shiny. So I bought this grit to try out. I was very pleased with the results. I use a 3 lb tumbler and added 5 tbsp of this grit at my Step 4 product. After 3 days of tumbling, my quart was shiny. I think after 5 days I would have gotten super shiny rocks but I don't need that with these batches I'm working on now. This was amazing considering that the previous grit I used didn't even give me a hint of shine after 12 days. I will definitely buy again.

This stuff is a miracle! I tried with 2 other brands. See the top rock and did not get nothing after 2 weeks. The bottom rock was with polly plastics after only 2 days recommend by Agate Ariel from YouTube on how to get a great polish.The only reason I knocked it down a star is because it's expensive compared to others. Definitely will buy again.

This is the only stage 4 polish I have found that actually puts a shine on my stage 4 rocks. I have tried 3 other brands and have not achieved very good results using them.

Grit works well. Always buy this brand

Started back into rock tumbling about a year ago. Needing more supplies, I went on Amazon and settled on the Polly Plastics Media Grit Kit and was well pleased with the results. I did not bother to do a review at that time. When it came time to resupply, I decided to try a different vendor (see my other reviews if you wish to know). All was fine until I finished the polish step, which looked more like a pre-polish cycle. I first suspected the new ceramic filler I was using, but after removing all of that, and rerunning the pre-polish and polish step, the results were the same. I then set that batch aside and ordered more of the Polly Plastic polish (1200 grit). Keeping all of the filler media and slabs the same, I ran the polish step again with the Polly Plastic product. The results were night and day (see photos). I really lost a lot of material off my slabs and even had a few fracture during the last try, but now I know. Yes, I would recommend the Polly Plastic products.
