Love my pond boss fountain!
Terrific product. Easy to assemble and I had it in the pond within 30 minutes of getting it. That was 3 years ago. No issues at all with the fountain itself. Lights worked well for the first year. Last year we replaced them and only one light worked but we lived with it. This year we installed new light set and NO lights work. I will be calling custom service for another replacement set but so far service has been good so no reason to believe otherwise this time. I give this 5 stars because when it all works it is a really good product overall. ps - I am a woman and it is super easy to setup. update - customer service sent me a set of replacement parts and two light sets overnight. Received them the day after this post. The issue turned out to be the actual light wire. The female end had gotten a bit worn and the connection wasn’t tight enough. Normal wear and tear. I purchased the replacement light cord and I’m sure everything will work perfectly. I was concerned at the initial customer service when they said someone would call me back. But they came through like champs and even told me to keep the extra parts and lights at no cost. This is how all companies should work! Five stars!!

Beautiful large fountain with lights
This fountain is nice and large. The directions were really easy, and Install was a breeze. It comes with two different fountain heads. And the lights are moveable. They have a light sensor so they only come on at night. The power cord is extremely long, double the length of other similar fountains. I’m very happy with it.

Best bang for your buck
This is a great product for the price. I was a little weary when ordering after seeing some of the reviews but my wife & I decided to try it anyways .. We have a 1/2 acre pond & it looks amazing. The water fountain is a lot higher than expected & the lights look amazing at night. The only thing about this product that could be better would be a longer power cord (it only comes with a 50 footer) . I will update this review in a few months as we’ve only had this fountain going for about 5 days now.

You Are Not Going To Believe What Pond Boss Did!
This product performed great. It looked just like the marketing picture. 6 mo. later the lights went out. Called the service dept. and got someone right away. I assumed that the product had a 3 mo. warranty and so I ordered a new light kit. They wanted $55.00 which I thought was reasonable but the CSR said, I wish I could help you save money. She ask, "When did you purchase this?" At this point it had been 9 months since buying the product and I told her that. She informed me that it was still under warranty and if I could send the purchase receipt, they would send me the lights under warranty. I told her I didn't have the receipt anymore and she informed me that if I bought it on Amazon, the receipt was in my account info (which it was). Sent her a copy. As I waited for the lights to come, I became concerned that the problem may have been the dusk to dawn sensor and not the lights themselves. 3 business days later I get 2 packages from the company. A whole new unit.... not just lights. NOW, what company does this for the customer. Say what you want, they did not have to do that. Besides being the best bang for the dollar when I purchased it, they also have the customer service that goes Above And Beyond.

Very Impressed (Updated 6/6/2022)
Ordered to replace a 1/2HP pump with supply and return piping and fountain for my 1/8 acre pond. Was able to install it in the dark with a headlamp. Very easy assembly and instructions. Was surprised how much water this pump/fountain moves. Actually appears to move more water than my previous setup. Time will tell how long it holds up. I did purchase the Pond Boss Mesh Bag to attempt debris from clogging it up. Because of the decrease in amperage, (Old Pump 240V/5A, New Pump 115V/1.5A) we can afford to run this pump for longer hours, which is sure to make the fish happy. Speaking of happy, after I got it cranked up, I called the wife to come out and check it out. She loves it. The LED lights make an awesome effect with the water. I read some negative reviews about the lights not lasting. I found that the wire connector used on the fountain side of the cord does not appear to seal to well. Water is probably the culprit in most of the failures. I used some high quality electrical tape and looped the cord around one of the lights to keep the connector on top of the fountain. It will still get wet, but will not be underwater. Hopefully it helps, because I really do like the lights. Looking at other reviews, some report problems with the fountain after a few weeks or months after installing it and complained about it not having a warranty. Just make sure to register it with Pond Boss. They have a two or three year warranty and seem to have great customer service. I highly recommend this product. June 6, 2022 Update - Well after having to replace the LED lights several times, I was still pretty happy with the fountain itself until last September when it took a direct hit from a huge oak tree during Hurricane Ida. Even with the LED light failure issues, I ordered a new one from Amazon in December. I was finally able to clear all the trees from the pond and installed the new fountain in February. It has been running fine since I put it in. Today I spoke with a friend of mine that purchased the same pond boss floating fountain on my recommendation. He told me he has had to replace the LED lights several times on his fountain which is just a little over one year old. He explained that the pond boss people were nice about replacing them the first time when they failed at two months old. The second second set lasted a couple months and the folks at pond boss are now dragging their feet. While I had to wait a while for the parts to come in the last time they failed, the folks explained that they were in the process of moving and were waiting for parts to come in from overseas. Other than that, I have had a good experience with the Staff at Pond Boss, but am not pleased to hear they are treating my friend differently. BUYER BEWARE. There is an evident problem with the LED lighting package on this Pond Boss floating fountain. Until Pond Boss figures out what the problem is with the LED lighting and applies a fix, I would recommend thinking twice before purchasing the product if the LED lights are a deal breaker for you. This fountain comes with a 3-year limited warranty if you register the product with Pond Boss. Please make sure you register your fountain. Good luck.

Beautiful Fountain Transforms into a Major Disappointment!
I bought this fountain approximately seven months ago, excited to add a touch of beauty and tranquility to my backyard. It indeed was a sight to behold when operational, however, much to my chagrin, this visual spectacle has been fleeting and far too brief. The first issue emerged after only three months of use - the lights stopped functioning. Initially, the luminescence of this fountain at night was a real treat, the way it illuminated the entire pond, creating a magical and serene atmosphere that could leave anyone mesmerized. But, alas, the beauty was transient. The lights ceased to operate, taking away the primary reason why I was so attracted to this product in the first place. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, the engine gave up after only seven months of use. This essentially turned my once lovely and enchanting fountain into nothing more than a large and rather unsightly pond decoration. To give credit where it is due, I have maintained my pond meticulously. I even used a protective net to ensure the fountain was not subject to any undue strain or damage. My pond is as clear as crystal, which leaves me convinced that the issues I've encountered are no fault of my own but rather a clear indication of the fountain's inferior quality. I'm currently in the process of trying to get in touch with the company for a possible repair or refund. Unfortunately, my experience thus far has been a series of disheartening events, and I'm left feeling quite regretful about my purchase. All in all, I would certainly not recommend this product. It’s not just about the money spent, but also the disappointment and frustration that come with a short-lived product. This fountain promised longevity and beauty, but sadly, it failed to deliver on both fronts.

Nice fountain but you get what you are paying for...
Purchased this pump in March 2025. Received pump pretty fast and instructions and set up was super easy. The fountain works great, nice display and lights an added plus. BUT, in mid-June 2025 the lights quit working. I called customer service, and they were great. Explained the process on how to troubleshoot and replacement lights arrived quickly. We asked how to prevent the issue from occurring again and followed those instructions and went to some extra extremes to prevent weather conditions from playing a factor. Lights are out again mid-September 2025 so 3 months again, appears to be lifespan of the lights. Perhaps a little research and developement is needed. I believe some of the reviews may have mentioned this issue. I probably won't be calling CS again as it's a headache I'm not willing to go thru every 3 months for 3 years, the warranty on the pump. This unit was way under the price of most fountains, so I guess you get what you are paying for.

Beautiful Display
Easy to set up right out of the box. Beautiful display. 50' cord is adequate for our pond. Decided to use the multi-tier fountain head, but may change it out later just for variety. Only used one anchor directly opposite the electrical cord - had no problem with the fountain head being tilted. Looks great! Also purchased the Pond Boss PSWP Pump Barrier Bag to help protect the pump - hopefully, the performance will continue. Time will tell!

This is a beautiful fountain day and night!
This is an awesome pond fountain with lights. Three different options for fountain and dusk to dawn sensor for automatic lighting at sundown. This fountain will help prevent weeds in larger ponds, ours is approximately a half acre and it works great. We enjoy the beauty of this fountain all summer throughout the day and evening, we get compliments from all guests. This does go on sale but is worth the cost when needed. This is a great pond fountain that won't disappoint!

Magical visual and sound pond enhancer, but a few home-designed refinements were needed......
This review will begin with some contextual context on constructing the pond to provide any readers starting their projects from scratch with a brief timeline of how the Pond Boss DFTN floating fountain was chosen, how used, and actual operating observations and evaluations. Pond construction commenced in June 2023 and an exploratory approximate 5 foot deep excavation was completed using a mini excavator in a low-lying area of the property with a known high water table. The pond filled with water within 48 hours and the floating fountain was installed and tested. The pond was then enlarged to a size appropriate for the proper overall visual scale and fountain spray area. Two features of the floating fountain in the first picture were deemed improvable at this time. The supplied tether ropes were highly visible black, and were replaced by visually unobtrusive coloured tether ropes. The second improvable was the black plastic part of the fountain infrastructure visible above the water line. We constructed a 2 x 10" cedar box to snugly fit around the fountain and provide a more natural looking enclosure to fit in with the forest background of the pond. The second picture was taken in August and illustrates the new cedar enclosure. Several reviewers have noted challenges installing and tethering this fountain while keeping it level in the water. The cedar box solves this issue also. Eye hooks were installed under all four corners of the box and the tethers attached. This had a dual purpose of allowing the main fountain to find its own natural untethered upright level, and also to submerge the tether ropes several inches underwater and out of sight. Several reviewers have noted challenges related to clogging/cleaning/filtering with this unit. We were forced to solve this issue directly several months after the fountain was installed when the unit stopped working entirely. A visual inspection of the problem revealed that the filter supplied with the unit had somehow disconnected/broken off and was nowhere to be found, perhaps “swimming with da fishes”, to borrow a line from the movies. We constructed a large wraparound stainless steel screen for the unit and rigorously secured it using cable ties. Fountain performance improvement has been outstanding. Instead of laboriously disconnecting the tethers, tugging the unit out of the water, disassembling and cleaning the supplied filter every week to 10 days, the fountain has now been working flawlessly and maintenance free for over a month with the new homemade screen filter in place. We now have a virtually maintenance free unit that looks and performs much better, while delivering beautifully enhanced pond visual and aural effects. The third picture is a short video of the unit working at night in mid-November. The red glow of the just installed candy cane Christmas lights contrasting with the white lights of the fountain provides a cheery seasonal treat.

Sorry, I did not purchase sooner.
Pond Boss DFTN12003L Floating Fountain with Lights, 50 Foot Power Cord, 1/4 hp, is exactly as advertised. The pump and lights have been operating 24/7 for approx. one month now, with no attention needed. Provided (but not clear in ad, are lanyards for the pump to keep it position. (Should have purchased this pump sooner, rather than try to "jury-rig" my own system. Worked, but this pump just made life a lot easier.) I did tie some window screening around the pump intake as my pond had a lot of plant matter debris that I did not want to get into pump in case it caused problems. Pond water has cleared from a murky situation and my Large Mouth Bass are definitely enjoying as they are much more active. Lights look very nice at night and despite reports from others that the lights quit shortly after installing, mine still work fine. Will update this review if my option changes, but so far a solid purchase - good money spent.
