This was a birthday present for a seven-year-old boy. He loved it! And moreover, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the pieces. There are about 10 pirates in various costumes and carrying various weapons and they are all posed in very detailed positions and painted very realistically with detailed face expressions.. There’s a small canon that actually shoots miniature plastic cannon balls, very well thought out! There is a rowboat and a pirate ship and the row boat has slots so you can stand a pirate up in the boat. It’s these details that make a toy like this more engaging for a child. The pirate ship has lots of detail as well and there is a treasure chest with gold in it that actually opens up. It is it a never ending source of frustration when toy makers include containers in play kits that don’t open! The first thing a child wants to do is see what’s inside. All in all, I have played with hundreds of toys with my niece and nephew and this one seems the most user-friendly and conducive to imaginative play. I will let you know how it holds up over time. But as a self-contained game (it comes in its own case too) I think the pieces will all stay together and create hours of fun for my nephew. I couldn’t find anything I didn’t like about this pirate set. Therefore I am giving it five stars. It was an excellent price point too.

Such a fun toy! My grandson loved playing with this set!

The three-year old likes pirates and this was a perfect, inexpensive gift. The shark's eyes light up for approximately fifteen seconds at a time. It turns off by itself. There were no instructions on how to start the battery for the shark's eyes. The quality of the pirates are not good; some cannot even stand up. For the price and for a three-year old, this was a good enough gift.

So I don’t fully pay attention to everything that came with it. I was getting this for my autistic son’s birthday, and man did he love it!!! Welp I was in for a surprise myself it came with a lot more than I expected. The only down side is some parts do come off every now but they are not easy to put back together. As for its durability I would say it great for it he’s semi rough player with his toys. He definitely has fun with it with every time. Color matched and hat I picked, size matched as well.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how well-crafted this little kit is. This would make any kid with a love of pirates happy. It certainly makes this adult happy! There is some assembly required straight out of the box: the rowboat needs its seats, oars, and rudder installed; the ship must have her mast stepped (but the mast, sails, and shrouds all come pre-rigged, it’s literally popping it into the hull); and the tree/shrub need their foliage attached. There are no instructions, but a little bit of patience and poking will yield the solution. Everything does fit back into the box after assembly, but you do have to get a little creative. The ship only fits if you put her in sideways; the masts are too tall for the box otherwise. Everything else goes in like a game of Tetris. Overall this set is adorable, well-made, and should provide hours of fun for kids and kids-at-heart!

I bought this for my grandson's 4th birthday. He's big into pirates and he absolutely loved this play set. However, some pieces need to be put together and it seems like it was either missing pieces or there were extras. Not sure which. It seems like some of the pieces won't last very long but he's loving it for now.

Our grandson really likes the small action figures of this play set. He has played with it for hours! Well worth the money spent. There are a couple of items that are kind of delicate, however. The palm trees are prone to breakage where gluing back together didn't work. He still plays with them when he is on a sleepover with us. Overall, a good purchase. Hope this helps.

So I picked this one because my inner child loved the "butt" barrel. The general consensus is "booty" got lost in translation, though it was brought to my attention by a smarty pants friend that a "butt" is also a unit of measurement for wine. Anyway, my daughter is in kindergarten and her class has just started learning to read full words. So imagine my delight when she ran up to me with the barrel and excitedly said "look mom, it's pirate butt!!" That's the first word she has ever read in front of me. Seriously. Butt, anyway, she and her 4-yr old brother LOVE this set and are eating their dinner like perfect angels because that's the deal for them to play with it in their bath tonight. Quality seems reasonable for the price, and the cannon really shoots.

Very few of the figures stand, with excess plastic from the moulds preventing any hope without trimming the feet and most of the other pieces have so much excess plactic it really shows how poor the qulaity is. For the price.....it's an absolute ripoff.
