I knew from the prologue it wasn't going to end the way I would have preferred, but I had to read it nonetheless. My heart aches for this precious one of Gods' Gifts but I know that all who saw, rode and touched him, was touched BY him. I'm devastated by his loss and the inhumanity that made the perpetrator use a three thousand pound van to purposely run into this beautiful creature in order to destroy him. I'm going to borrow a quote I read as a tribute to this beautiful and big hearted gentle giant...... "I read somewhere once that there was no greater love than that of a man and his horse. How true, for none that have a love of such beautiful of God's creatures, could ever imagine life without them. I believe it is true, than no other of God's creatures can fly without wings or conquer without a sword. Our heartfelt sympathies go to each of you that shared in Brig's life and he in yours. May you always know that when you turn around and hear hoofbeats, he is closely guarding you." Truer words will never be written. What a tragic loss.

True story, very brave horse with a very sad ending.

I am a horse lover and could not wait to get this book.

I felt like I was actually a part of this story. An amazing 'Officer'. I was in absolute shock regarding his tragic dead. I love horses so much could not believe someone would murder him. I immediately went online and research Brigadier. A must read but get the tissues.

I recommend this story to everyone, especially animal lovers. Well researched and written, it will bring both the joy of knowing that such creatures really do exist, and the deep sorrow that comes when their time with us over. Rest in peace, Big Boy.

My daughter loves everything horses. She has devoured this whole series. She loved this one even though it was sad. With ADHD getting her to sit and read a book is difficult but we had a hard time getting her to put this one down.

This is a very good horse story and I enjoyed reading it. This was a very small book and I read it all in one day.
