I will let you know later how well the plants grew under them. Pretty controlled experiment. Same size pots, same dirt, same plants from seeds, same watering. 1/2 under the lights, 1/2 under incandescent lights. Doing this with my science class. Fixture does not seem to overheat. The Bad: The ends on the fixture are plastic. The seller did a lousy job in preparing for shipping so the plastic ends are both cracked. Since I needed a 4 ft light, the leds all light up and I am able to hang it even with the ends cracked, I decided to keep it. I figured the replacement would likely be cracked or worse due to seller shipping practices. For $60 I expected better quality. UPDATED REVIEW: Not recommended. They are alive and not dying, but they didn't grow at all and leaves turned a purplish tinge.New 40w LED white shop lights are now 15 bucks each. I did a side by side with mesclun microgreens under 24th lights. Trays were planted in peat moss mix on 6/23/17. The white shop lights blew the LED grow lights away so I may just throw these grow lights away. The LED tray is on left, the white LED shop lights on the right. Pic taken 13 days after planting.Arrived quickly. take all my orchids in for the winter and start seeds on a 4 shelf 4' bakers rack and 2 of these fit perfectly hanging from one of the shelves. Not sure how it will work with the orchids since it will take a while to see any results. Ist brighter than expected. It's light and has a slim profIle. The plants will nlt be receiving any natural light ao im hoping thks works. It was less expensive than buying a 4 lamp HO T5 setup and replacing the bulbs each year. I also have an agro led which cost more than 300 with bulbs as well as a cheapo 2 lamp HO T5 on the other shelves. I'love be starting some seeds under each shelf to compare.
