Works for me
I read a lot of bad reviews - it seems the device works or it doesn't . It works fine for me, using Windows 10 with only a USB 2.0 port. Computer discovered the device, loaded the drivers and within minutes I was copying files. One thing to note, the card would require a good push to seat it in the reader. This might add some confusion to users who thought once the card was inserted i t should work . In fact, it took me a minute to realize that to "seat" the card it needed a good push into the reader after it was inserted.

Works every time for me
Despite the number of people who had trouble with this, mine works fine every time I've used it (only about 30 times so far). It doesn't feel very reassuring when you insert the card (no nice spring-loaded mechanism, you just stick it in), but it works consistently, and when copying to an older (3 years) Dell desktop with a 1TB drive, it copies from the card to the disk at about 40-50 MB/sec. I wouldn't bang this thing around much, but for its price it's pretty great!

Waste of Money, Very Loose, Too Many 1 Star Reviews Now!
Very loose! Beware! Both connections are loose. The USB-A Male connector is loose and unreliable. I have to repeatedly re-assert its position in any of several USB-A receptacles on my computers because of loss of electrical connection within the USB-A receptacle. I many USB-A devices, all my other devices work properly in any of the USB-A receptacles .The XQD interface receptacle within the body of the "card reader" is also loose. The card fails to maintain electrical connection, and must also be repeatedly re-asserted.If you want a good XQD card reader, I'd recommend the Lexar Professional XQD 2.0 USB 3.0 Reader - LRWXQDRBNA Lexar Professional XQD 2.0 USB 3.0 Reader - LRWXQDRBNA .To improve the usability of the Lexar XQD card reader, I recommend the: Mediabridge USB 2.0 - USB Extension Cable (6 Inches) - A Male to A Female Mediabridge USB 2.0 - USB Extension Cable (6 Inches) - A Male to A Female with Gold-Plated Contacts .This 6 inch "USB Extender" cable, will act as a "pigtail" or "dongle." Sometimes card readers don't fit USB receptacles well because of interference with other cables or structures. So a "pigtail" makes connection easy.

Works well
Works fast and does what it's supposed to do. Not much to say about it. Look Pretty?

Does not work well
Does not stay connected. I have to hold it in place for awhile. It blinks in and out when I have it plugged in.

Good
Not the fastest, not the cheapest, but works and was available much earlier than the competition was.

I couldn't be happier with the purchase--wish I had done it sooner
I misplaced my Nikon D500's cable so I had to get a XQD card reader to download photos to my Mac; the Amalink SuperSpeed XQD 2.0 USB 3.0 reader fit the bill--my images actually download faster than if I did it through the camera and it's easier to carry and have handy. I couldn't be happier with the purchase--wish I had done it sooner.

Does The Job
If you're going to use XQD cards, you're going to need one of these. Expensive! and so are the cards – but can you say blindingly fast? The cards sure are, and so is this puppy.

Could not read Sony XQD 64GB G Series
Tested on Windows 10 and could read perfectly Sony XQD 32GB G Series, but failed and could not recognize the 64GB version of the Sony XQD G Series.Tried formatting using Windows (with the card in the camera, connected with a cable), changing to all available USB ports, inserting/removing card/cable many times. Repeated the tests during few days after also rebooting the laptop. But unfortunately, it cannot read the 64GB version of the card. The card works perfectly within the camera, I can connect a cable directly to the camera and the images are successfully exported to the laptop. It still works flawlessly with the 32GB version of the Sony XQD G Series card.[edit]Bought Sony XQD Card Reader MRW – E90 BC2 SYM works perfectly with both the 32GB and the 64GB.
