There are also strong reflections / distractions from the inner walls - I've though about opening up the unit and putting a non-reflective lining in. I like the feed-through pathway for the slides - its easy to use - and the magnification is adequate. The image quality is fine for reviewing / sharing slides and doesn't impart particular colour hues. We used it to review several 100 slides ahead of house-clearance and the batteries lasted well. Review: Nice and bright - well made very reliable ... the early vintage 70's one I replaced due to a battery leak (thanks Everready!) required you push the slide down to activate the light. If the slides are thicker than the new ones they may not eject & I just pull them out with tweezers.
