Amazing on Thick Carpet and Husky Fur
We only have one dog, a Siberian Husky, but the fur-mageddon is real. I wanted a better solution for stairs since vacuuming the stairs is such a pain (thick carpet, curved stairway). I decided to try this, it looked promising enough. Turns out, it is money well spent. I can run it over the stairs and get so much fur. It takes minimal effort and it is quick. I am very impressed. This thing pulls out more fur than I even knew was there. I used it on my stairs a couple times a week to keep them looking much better. I also use it on the areas my dog lays the most because it gets so furry and mats down the carpet. Great for that when you don't feel like vacuuming but looks freshly vacuumed. I even used it on the microfiber towel I keep in the dog's crate. Worked pretty well on that, too. Snagged it a couple of times, but nothing major and it's just the dog towel so I don't care much. Really got a lot of fur off which was great before washing it. What's really nice about this tool is that no matter how much hair you rake out of your carpets, it just balls up and doesn't get caught up in the tool itself. There's no real cleaning that has to be done with the tool. A gentle shake and the hair falls off. You're not wasting time pulling it out of the rake. The way this tool is designed allows you to get right up against furniture, baseboards/walls, and edges of the stairs and not miss anything. You can rake it flush against something and get clear to the edge. You don't need to press hard, it didn't get caught in my carpet and so far only pulled out a couple of very small carpet pieces (but those could've been loose to begin with). This is seriously an awesome tool, and I highly recommend it. It'll work for any type of pet hair, long or short. Would be awesome to keep carpeted cat trees clean. But I love it most of all for the stairs. If I had to say something negative about this product (because nothing is 100% perfect), I'd say the handle could use very minor improvement. A little thicker to make it more comfortable to hold. It feels a bit flimsy but not to the point I feel like I'm going to break it with normal use.

Hair remover tool, perfect for deep rooted hair in tough fibers, affordable
I have something similar to this but it is not nearly as good. I purchased this for my cats cat trees and carpet on my stairs. The moment I opened it I noticed how sharp it was however appreciated the warnings and directions on how to properly use. This thing works! Highly highly recommend. Wish I purchased sooner!

Expensive but worth it
I can only describe this pet hair remover as working like magic! I have two Long-haired cats and my fur babies shed constantly. They tolerate brushing sometimes when they are in the mood (you cat people know how cats are), and my oriental carpet is a pet hair magnet. I have tried everything and spent a bunch of money trying to find something that really works getting the fur up without breaking my back. Vacuuming does not work entirely. I even bought a vacuum that is the same price as a used car (about $2000)!! It doesn't work because the fur is embedded in the carpets. (by the way, I took the vacuum back). This hair/fur remover is amazing! The little "teeth" or ridges on both edges of the rake are small but powerful and they are not sharp so you don't have to worry about cutting yourself or the carpet. I don't have to put much force or pressure to pull the remover back across the carpet to get the hair loose. It also leaves the fur/hair on the carpet so I can pick it up off the carpet. I don't have to fight to pull it off the remover , and there is no compartment that I have to dump all the time. I just simply pick the fur up off the carpet. The only negative is it let's me see just how much hair my little fur babies shed on the carpet. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on all carpets. It works fine on my oriental, but not on the berber carpet that I have. The instructions say that you can use on fabrics too, but I have never tried that. The one I bought is really small with a short handle which is why I am taking a star away and giving it four stars. It works fantastic, but it is too small and expensive. I understand there is a larger version that has a longer handle more like a rake which is even more expensive (Amazon has it, of course). I hate to spend so much money, but it works so well that I will probably "bite the bullet" and buy the larger one despite the expense.

Be prepared to have your mind blown.
This is the first time in my 79 years on this Earth that I am in love with an inanimate object. Let me explain. I am driving a 2004 car, which was new to me when I purchased it. I also have three short-haired dogs who shed more than anyone would think possible. I have been carrying their short, straight, wiry hair to the mats in my car for many years. No, I have not been ignoring the problem. I have used the four hair/lint removers I own, and I routinely vacuum the mat when I wash the car, but those suckers hang onto the fibers of the cloth mat, laughing at me for my struggles to get them off. In desperation, I thought that I'd try this strange-looking dog-hair remover/carpet rake. I did note that it did not resemble anything I had ever tried over the years, but I was not prepared to see it in person. To be honest, I was pretty underwhelmed and doubtful when I first opened it. But I spent my money (which was a little higher than what I had spent on other gadgets), and I might as well try it out. All I can say is, "Absolutely mindblowing!" I can't imagine any car detailer doing a better job. This must be how my matts looked before they met my pack. In one easy session, they were pristine. It picked up not only the hair but the dust embedded in the fibers. My only regret is not needing to use the tool now. I had worked on a 20-year accumulation, and now it's a little less fun to use it. There isn't that feeling of accomplishment when you see the before-and-after image. I generally don't write letters to manufacturers. I just "eat it" when I am disappointed and rarely when I am pleased. But the ease of use and results of this tool led me to contact them as soon as I finished using it for the first time.

Beyond My Expectations
I ordered the Uproot Pet Hair Removal Tool primarily for my cat trees. It measures about 6-1/2 inches wide, which is perfect for the cat tree beds. Even though I vacuum them I could never get all the hair out from my long haired cat; especially in the corners. I was even considering g throwing out the older tree because the build up of hair bothered me. In just a few minutes I’d gotten all of the excess hair that I wasn’t able to vacuum up. I even saved on the electric bill!! I tried it on my short pile oriental style rug and it pulled up hair there too despite having vacuumed yesterday. I wasn’t going to buy the larger tool for the rug, but I might consider it now. I do think it’s a little pricey compared to the small one though. I expended very little energy using this tool. Much less than vacuuming and with far better results. I did notice that it worked best only using it in one direction going with the pile. I would not use this on clothing as I think it might damage them. I didn’t try it on my velvet couch because I keep throw blankets on it and the velvet material doesn’t t pick up much hair anyway.

It doesn't work on short coarse hair imbedded in carpet.
I have a red tick hound. His hair is short and course and imbeds in carpet, especially vehicle. This tool does a poor job of removing the hair. I haven't found anything that works on this type of hair.

Must have for pet owners!
This hair removal tool is amazing! It easily brings dog hair to the surface on upholstery and rugs. What used to take 30-45 minutes to vacuum all the hair in my car now takes about 5 minutes and gets it much cleaner. I wouls not recommend using it on clothing, but it is perfect for furniture and car upholstery.
