NOTICE TO BUYER: This is written by a REFORMED Jew, not an Orthodox, as I thought it was. Hence, there will be some difference between what this guy believes and what Orthodox Jews believe. It is a good book, written well. I am a Christian trying to get a better understanding of the Jewish religion and culture, and I thought this was a Jewish Orthodox book. I should have done more research. I am not going to give it a bad rating though based on that. If you want a great book written from a Reformed Jews perspective, then this is a good one for you. If not, then search for another one.

Absolutely love this!!! It’s is fantastic to learn and re-learn topics!I’m in the process of converting and wanted to learn as much as I can- and my boyfriend I a Jewish. We both enjoy reading different topics! It gives the total perspective, not only orthodox or reform. It also gives the background of every topic.It is a great book and highly recommend to everyone!!

Easy to understand and well written.

I am Jewish by birth, but have not practiced it as a religion. A friend’s daughter was interested in learning about Judaism, so I needed to “brush up.” This book is loaded with answers to questions and is easy to read and easy to use as a reference. I got her a copy, and was so impressed when I flipped through it, that I got myself one, too!

This excellent and encyclopaedic book is perfect for those considering conversion to Judaism.
