The overall construction looks rugged and robust. There has been some discussion about the hole that the wires emerge from, and I agree that there should be a grommet, or protective sleeve there. The machining on the shaft appears perfect. The finish is adequate as well. I did not order the optional mounting brackets because we can fabricate those ourselves, but that will be an added expense for others. Now for the wiring. I am surprised that no one (not even the manufacturer) mentioned the fact that there are 3 identical wires coming out of the generator. I have to conclude that this unit produces 3 phase AC power and will also require a 3 phase rectifier. It is very common for wind powered generators to produce AC current and after the power reaches the area where there is a load, or batteries, then it is converted to regulated DC current. Most rectifiers have 5 connections. Three are identical, and two are the regulated DC red(pos.) and black(neg.) output. The three identical connections can be hooked up in any order, to the three coming out of the generator. An American company called Missouri wind and solar has a wiring diagram that you can check out at their site. I believe that the 3 wires coming from the generator are adequate for the 100 watts of AC power that it produces, and that it should be rectified as close to the load as possible, such as inside the battery shed, etc. I rotated the shaft and found it to have very light cogging, so it should work very nicely for low wind conditions and slow start-up. This exact generator sells on other platforms at a much higher price, so by sourcing it through Amazon, it is very affordable.
