Is the device as accurate as traditional blood pressure machines?

No!!! I didn’t use it immediately when I bought it, but started using it a regularly a month ago and I was terrified because the readings were at dangerous levels — in the 170s and 180s for systolic and high 90s and low 100s for the diastolic.

I went to the doctor today and their machine measured my bp at 35 mg lower! We did it on both arms, just as I have been doing at home. The pressure in both arms was pretty much the same at the doctor’s office, but it has been 15 to 20 mg different between left and right arm using the Omron at home. I started researching, and all the articles said that substantial a difference between arms signaled a more serious underlying problem like heart issues or blockages. To say I was frightened is an understatement. What a relief to get a confidently accurate reading at the doctor’s office!

The doctor told me that Omron is a good brand, and she thinks the problem occurred because of the width of the sleeve. The width on this Omron is quite a bit narrower than the bp monitor at the doctor’s office, so I am going to go shopping for one that is more similar to the one at the doctor’s office. I don’t need any more scary days and nights, waiting for a doctor appointment to find out if I’m going to live much longer!

Is this device stores multiple readings until transferred to a phone?

Beware, however!  The ONLY way to access stored readings is from a Bluetooth connected phone, and you may well have problems with that connection.  I have spent hours in the phone with tech support, and it still takes me much unpairing, repairing, and phone rebooting to transfer readings.  Last call they promised an email with a RMA for my device, but never follows through.  And, the app provides no reporting capability anymore unless you pay for a premium subscription.  Buyer beware.

Will this work with s health

Yes.  I'm on Android 12.  I wasn't comfortable sharing personal info with Omron and their cloud.  Add the Evolv from the SHealth accessories page.  Press and hold the double arrow button on the Evolv to go into BT pairing mode.  Works well. No Omron Connect software required.

Question 4

If i'd like to export the results, what kind of format does it use? if i'd like to send the results to my gp, is it possible somehow?

Exports in many formats, but excel-style "cells", and ".csv" files, have a major bug: meter reading values are combined with text!  This is a major show-stopper since no graphing or trend analysis is possible without individual editing of the output data.  Looks like app and cloud software was developed by amateurs (it is very clunky).
