Not quite oversized enough?
I have thick hair that goes just past my shoulders and selected this clip hoping it would be able to hold all my hair up in a twist due to its “oversize” size. While I can *technically* get all my hair twisted up and into the clip, the claws can’t truly get into the roots to hold it in place. After just a few minutes of trying to wear it, my hairstyle starts to feel more and more precarious. Although this is marketed as an oversize clip, its width is identical to a much smaller Kitsch clip I have. I think future versions might benefit from more width and not just adding more claws on each end! I don’t think I’ll really be able to wear this, which is disappointing since I like that it’s made from recycled materials. The grippable matte coating on this clip is nice and smooth. However, please note that I’m unsure if the coating will hold up over time. At the time of writing this review, the MSRP is $14.99 and it’s on sale for $9. I personally wouldn’t spend much more than $8-10 on this clip, but that’s just based on my own hair texture — it might work out really nicely with YOUR hair and be worth every penny of the $15 price!

Good clip, sadly not enough for thick hair
The durability and grip of this clip is phenomenal. I also love the matte black finish. My only issue is that it will not hold all of my very thick, shoulder-length hair. My wish is that clips for “thick hair” did not accommodate by only increasing length, but also the width of the clip. Nonetheless, it is wonderful for half up styles and I still have use for it. Alas, my search continues the clip for thick hair.

I like these very much cause they have longer claws on them than most have and they stay in good. I think they called octopus claws anyway I like them.
