You need to be familiar with basic differential and integral calculus. The book is a must-have for students preparing for the International Physics Olympiad. Most 1st and 2nd year physics courses at university will use this textbook or one very similar. The explanations are crystal clear, and there are many diagrams and pictures to assist your learning. Since this is a cheaper Indian edition, the pictures are black-and-white; this was the only drawback I could find. The book also includes the new (2019) definitions of the SI base units. The answers to odd-numbered problems are provided in the last few pages. See the attached pic for the Table of Contents.

I purchased this 15th edition kindle version as an update to the excellent previous edition, but the diagrams/figures seem to be missing so I returned it for refund. Since returning it the problem seems to have been fixed and I have re-purchased it and opened it in the Kindle app for Windows - all diagrams/figures now available - excellent

While I am a little surprised that this was available for distribution outside of the Indian subcontinent, I’m glad nonetheless that I got this textbook. I can say that this is the definitive physics textbook if you want a basic understanding of most introductory topics. It’s absolutely invaluable for first year physics students, or anyone who wants to know more about the reality we live in. Great read, good problems and exercises.
