Everyday Paleo Family Cookbook offers guidance on how to bring your family together with the magic of real food. As modern life grows more hectic with each passing day, a part of living the Paleo lifestyle is slowing down and enjoying the time we have with family and friends. This cookbook is intended to remind us of how precious these moments are and that some of the fondest memories can be made while sitting at the dinner table with the ones we love. Savoring these moments, along with delicious and healthful food, is what life is all about. In addition to more than eighty delicious, easy-to-prepare recipes that are free of grains, dairy, sugar, and legumes, Everyday Paleo Family Cookbook offers: Time-saving tips and tricks to get you through your busy weeks Suggestions of which recipes to pair together to made a complete meal Ideas for how to successfully bring the family together at mealtime Simple shopping and prepping tips to help you save time and money Resources for where to shop to find specific ingredients Review: I'm Impressed - A good cookbook for Paleo dieters and non-Paleo dieters alike! - I was interested in starting a Paleo diet, or at least, changing my diet to be closer to one. My friend recommended this book to me, as she said it had many different recipes that tasted good. The beginning of the book is filled with information about the paleolithic diet; why it's good for your system, what foods you can eat, and how it changed the author's life. I honestly loved the personal touch. She also goes on to give advice and tips on how to lessen the blow to your budget, as eating a lot of meat and fresh produce can increase your grocery bill. She also has a sample one-week meal plan with a complete grocery list to help you get started. Another positive point to this book: Unlike other paleo diet books I have bought, this author is not condescending and is genuinely helpful. There are few mini-quick recipes in the introduction section, so if you buy this book, don't skip over those! So far, I have tried about 10 recipes. I especially recommend the zucchini salad and the sweet potato chips for the sides and the mini meatloaves for dinner. Everything that I have made has been a huge hit with the family, and that's saying something, since my 8 year old son is a very picky eater. My other two children and my husband are really enjoying the food. I think the author makes a good attempt at trying to please every type of cook with this book. Some of the recipes are quick and easy, others are quite involved with lots of chopping and cutting of vegetables. For me, I love being in the kitchen, so I have been picking the more labor intensive recipes to start off with. However, tonight I tried the easy pulled pork recipe, and let me tell you, it was EASY and the roast was delicious! In conclusion, whether you are looking for a paleo cookbook or just looking for new recipes to expand your collection, I highly recommend this book! Review: New Paleo Cookbook!!!! - I was so excited to receive this new Paleo cookbook written by my old friend, Sarah. I have thoroughly used, enjoyed, and passed along to numerous people, her first cookbook... and it even had a hand in converting the dietary standpoints of a few friends. I got my copy of her newest masterpiece yesterday, in perfect time. As a stay at home mom with two small children that cooks everything from scratch, basing our diet around a Paleo lifestyle, I have recently found myself in a food rut. I love to cook and create so this has been quite troubling. So upon receiving this cookbook and diving right in to peruse it cover to cover before bed last night, I woke up excited, inspired, and ready to shop for fresh ingredients at my local farmers market this morning. And I am now even more excited about the 1/4 grass fed steer we just purchased. Sarah's newest book, Everyday Paleo Family Cookbook is wonderful as far as I can tell. My husband and myself found ourselves with growling tummies as we checked it out yesterday and I personally love the new spins on some of my own favorite, yet tired, meat dishes. I really like the variety and level of the recipes she has included here such as the importance of making your own chicken/beef broth, the egg recipes, sample school lunches, and the fruity treat section in the back. It is apparent she is catering to both an early learning cook and someone who knows their way around the kitchen. The abundance of pictures are beautiful and handy to have too. I personally can't wait to get on making a few of these sauces, the carrot french fries, and (a first for me) beef bone broth. Finally, I appreciate the statistics information and family involvement anecdotes she has chosen to include here as they are very eye opening and important regardless of our individual food choices. Thank you Sarah, and please, keep it coming!!!

Sarah Fragoso does it again!
I just received my new cookbook yesterday, and cannot wait to try pretty much everything inside this one (just like we did with the first... trust me, it's beaten and battered from use in the kitchen). First on my list will be Cauliflower Hummus (genius) and Sloppy Joes in Portabellas. Going to make the dinner for our 1-year Paleo Anniversary (we went Paleo last year in September and Sarah's first book guided us through the transition. I quit 7 years as a vegetarian for Paleo and feel so much better its unbelievable). If you own the first cookbook, which you SHOULD, this new one has gorgeous photos and a beautiful layout. The first one has awesome info and recipes, but is much more "homemade" looking with family snapshots, etc. With this book it is clear she is now in the Big Leagues! On a side note, the title of this one might be confusing (is it just the same book with updated cover and photos? Not at all!) but I will forgive. The rest of it is awesome. Sections are divided much more logically (sauces, slow cooker, meaty mains, and very little "dessert" or treat options - good). I was always getting confused with the first book... I think it's because the fish section was yellow. No separate "fish" section here - good! There are fish recipes of course, just in the Meat Meals section. The book is also a bit thinner, but I attribute that to there not being a weightlifting/workout section. (If you want the info, go buy the first book already!) I also want to point out that even though the emphasis is on a family with kids, there's no reason this book won't work for your family if you don't have kids (we don't! just a cat... at the moment). The advice she gives is great, and pertinent to everyone. Who doesn't want to know how to pack a delicious lunch?!? I also appreciate the "quick meal ideas" section, where there aren't full page recipes, just short easy recipes that look delicious. Thank you Sarah for another awesome cookbook. We can't wait to try everything in here! I wasn't sure it could be done, since the first Everyday Paleo was so good - but you've managed it in spades!! Now to go find myself some coconut aminos for my Kale Chips...

Great cookbook! But....
This is my favorite cookbook! Every single recipe has a full page color picture and the contents have small thumbnail pictures with the page numbers and name of the dish. It really is laid out beautifully. The recipes I've made so far have all been wonderful. Best Ever Chicken Wings? SO good...we're having more tonight! Slow Chicken Curry? Yuuuummmmm! This is a cookbook, but the author does give a basic overview of Paleo and how she came to the lifestyle. If you want more in depth information you need to grab one of the many other Paleo books out there. I do have a peeve with the book (and the Paleo community in general), and it concerns their stance on milk. I agree that pasteurized milk is one of the worst things you can put in your body. Anything good that was in the milk was completely destroyed during the pasteurization process and all that's left over is an inflammatory, mucus producing, sludge of yuck! The same cannot be said of RAW milk and raw milk products. In fact, there seems to be much evidence that the opposite is true. Raw kefir has been proven to be especially beneficial. My point is, is that Sarah Fragoso makes the distinction between grain and grass fed meat, but does not do so with pasteurized and raw milk. Raw milk should always come from grass fed cows. If you believe that you don't want to drink milk because it's for baby cows, that's fine, but to lump all milk together as being bad is just untrue and I wish the Paleo community would address this. Having said that, I absolutely recommend Everyday Paleo and I do believe that following the principles of the Paleo lifestyle would benefit everyone currently eating a Standard American Diet.

Great Food-Great Food for thought
This is my third Paleo cookbook. I am a Paleo newbie, but Sarah's cookbook is great even if you are not on the road to Paleo eating. I pre-ordered this book, after going to her website. I received it on September 6, and I have made something out of it literally everyday. Stuffed Acorn Squash, mayonnaise, roasted butternut squash...I could go on. The recipes are simple, I am not a great chef, and I have had all the ingredients to produce these wonderful recipes. My second review is that this is not just a cookbook. It is not just how to eat, what to eat, and where to get it...although for new Paleo eaters, she does give you all that information. It also makes you look at what you are doing with you free time, what are you doing with you loved ones...after reading the front section of this book, I made some really big changes in my life. I needed a reminder of what is important. So as a cookbook it is wonderful, and for a great ingredients for some food for thought on how we manage our lives. It was wonderful to see that life is not all about what we eat!! (and as a new paleo eater...it was refreshing!) Also after making many recipes my husband remarked that my cooking had gotten better!!! Thanks for a wonderful book!!! I will be adding the others to my collection soon!

The recipes are tasty and good whether or not you are a Paleo fan
I bought the book a month ago and tried reading it several times and I was turned off. Then I picked it up again this week and I am getting more into it. The recipes are tasty and good whether or not you are a Paleo fan. I made the roasted sweet potatoes with poblano, roated sundried tomato chicken, mini meatloaves, zucchini salad, and coconut curry chicken, homemade mayo, homemade salad dressing all in the first three days of this week. I am going to try it for a month and see what happens. Basically I'll emit dairy, wheat and alcohol from my diet and see if I feel better.

Best Paleo Cookbook
So, I have bought 11 or 12 Paleo cookbooks, including Nom Nom Paleo, Practical Paleo, Well Fed, etc. and this one is my favorite. The recipes are interesting enough that I don't miss grains or dairy, but easy enough that I can cook several of them on Sunday for the week without spending all day in the kitchen. Even my husband likes them! The recipes don't call for ingredients that are difficult for me to find at the local grocery store and I have yet to try a recipe that I don't like. I make the Paleo Everyday Stuffing almost once every other week; it's the perfect blend of vegetables (onions, mushrooms, carrots, celery), protein (grass-fed beef), nuts (slivered almonds), and fruit (dried unsweetened cranberries). It's delicious, filling, and healthy. The stuffed acorn squash and pumpkin muffins are also favorites. I recommend this cookbook to anyone who likes to eat well and doesn't have all day to spend in the kitchen.

I leave this book out on my counter at all times
This is one reference book I leave out at all times & I'm always referring to the recipes. The one most used: Homemade ketchup. My husband rips through it & it makes store bought seem so bland & tasteless in comparison. I am so thankful for the valuable insight I've learned by reading the personal messages from Sarah through her introduction, understanding kids & the basics. Written in everyday language I can relate to, I feel as though I'm learning from a friend. She has me reflecting on my own lifestyle & habits & has motivated me to make some positive changes. I now see the need for more quality sleep, living in the moment & cherishing the family I've been blessed with. I don't want to waste another moment. This book literally changed my life by changing my diet so that I now have sustained energy throughout the day, no more aching joints & a flat tummy :) My husband is on board now & enjoys losing fat, gaining muscle, has not used his inhaler, has no wheezing & is off his heartburn medication. Completely life changing. I didn't think we were allergic to grains & dairy, but oh! - the way I feel now, compared to my former way of eating is night & day. I highly recommend this book. The recipes are awesome & keep me from ever getting bored!

Excellent all round
Being new to the Paleo lifestyle I have found this book to be invaluable. Bearing in mind that it is an American book so I will need to make a few tweaks here and there as obviously we in the UK haven't got all the the stores or the specific makes of produce she mentions in some of her recipes…She also uses cups a lot to measure her ingredients so for myself I just keep one cup which I use for all her recipes so that they are balanced... however big or small a cup she uses herself is immaterial. It's a comprehensive cookbook covering not just your shopping list but lunch boxes for kids, sauces and dips, slow cooker recipes….. it even has an ingredient Index! She gives the preparation times, cooking times and how many people the meal will serve. All this as well as the many easy family recipes, hints to make your life easier and a brilliant introduction from Sarah herself. All this for £13 is excellent value for money.

Great cookbook if you are trying to follow a paleo ...
Great cookbook if you are trying to follow a paleo diet. The recipes in it are very family friendly, though for young children who aren't overly keen on spicy food I would recommend reducing the amount of chilli powder etc that is used in some recipes. It is also easy to add some carbs to the meals if you aren't wanting the whole family to eat Paleo. Also works well for a gluten/dairy free diet.
