Is there an advanced method to calibrating the scale if for instance a known weight (i.e. 15lbs) is showing as 14.8lbs or 15.2lbs?

Dear customer.
To calibrate the scale, please step on the scale with one foot until the LED screen lights up. Then step off and wait for the LED screen to display “CAL”. When "0.00" is displayed, the scale is calibrated.
You can test the scale's accuracy by placing a 5 or 10 pound dumbbell on the scale and viewing the measurement. First calibrate the scale: step on the scale with one foot until the LED screen lights up. Then step off and wait for the LED screen to display “CAL”. When "0.00" is displayed, the scale is calibrated and then you can place the dumbbell on the scale.
Accuracy Range for reference:
110lbs: ± 0.66lb
220lbs: ± 0.88lb
330lbs: ± 1.1lbs

How does the premium (this one) model of the smart body fit differ from the basic model?

So Renpho on their site claims that this one has more accurate sensors, which I cannot really confirm since I do not have the basic one, but the measurements I got from this one were pretty close (if not identical) with the Withings Body+  scale. It also has WIFI, so if you want to connect using that instead of bluetooth you have the option. I hope this helps.

What's the difference between this and the other renpho scales? is the main difference the ito coating leading to more accurate measurements?

No the biggest thing is that some are bluetooth only and some have wifi as well.  What that means really is you would have to have the app open to get it to update your measurements but with wifi you can sync it whenever. I have had both and love me the wifi!

a) how many data points can the app store?    
b) can I back up the data from the app to a computer?

Accepted Answer

Not sure what you mean by data points but this scale takes 13 measurements, and it saves them based on the time/day/month it was taken, so you can go back a few months and see where you were. Yes you can save the data (as an image) and then transfer it to a computer.
