Diamond Rects by Studio 180 Design

As always, Deb Tucker's rulers never disappoint. In had several diamond quilt blocks to make and this ruler made the process so much faster and accurate. Best of all, it can be used for several sizes.

This ruler was mentioned in the “Our Hearts Will Go On” quilt pattern. This and many quilt patterns call for a diamond shape that is not a standard 60 degree diamond. The patterns include a paper template which has to be copied and placed under a straight ruler to cut the shape from strips or traced onto template plastic and drawn onto the fabric with pencil, then cut out.This ruler not only allows you to cut perfect diamonds of 5 different sizes, it also has a guide to trim and square up the finished block. The added accuracy in the blocks results in a quilt that pieces together perfectly, and yields professional results.

I find that all studio 180 rulers are great and I love to use them. If you don’t know how they workyou should take a class.

This is another great tool by Deb Tucker. My only disappointment was that one corner was chipped when I opened the packaging, which was not in a bubble envelope. I needed the ruler for a project, so I did not opt to return it.I’m new to Deb Tucker’s quilting tools, but every one I’ve purchased has made each quilt block more accurate with less fabric waste. Her tools are not necessary for most patterns, but they are fun to use, and practically guarantee perfect points and squares with every block. They have pretty much eliminated ripping out and starting over.

Deb's tools allow the user to create perfect blocks where the points will always match. Was going to do paper piecing for my Storm at Sea quilt and now I won't have to mess with that and will waste a lot less fabric!

The ONLY ruler to cut diamond rec blocks. These diamonds aren't 60 degrees, they are 53 degrees. This ruler cuts the center diamond perfectly and allows final trimming of a completed block, all using fabric strips. 5 different sizes are included, and it's much faster than cutting templates or paper piecing. I took off a star because it lacks a non-skid back like CG branded rulers. I've ordered several quilting rulers from Amazon, this is the first one to arrive with a tiny corner chip. Damage won't interfere with functionality so I'll keep it.EDIT: After making 50 blocks, I recommend cutting the side setting rectangles 1/4" larger in each direction. Deb's sizes on the ruler for this step requires a more precise alignment when sewing. That extra 1/4" makes sewing much easier. I found Deb on YouTube recommending this too, but I wish she would have redesigned the tool to accommodate this. But I give her credit, this is the only ruler to make this block easy..

Love this ruler because I don't have to have multiples. Squares, triangles, half triangles, and rectangles on this ruler

I used this ruler in combination with another ruler to do a small Storm at Sea table topper. Beats paper piecing and has less waste.
