A Boring Imitation of Forrest Gump.
I liked the first book in this series. I thought the ideas were fresh. When this sequel was released I downloaded it right away. It started off promising but then it became depressing and boring. It seemed to me each time period Finch loved through was just a rehash of the previous. I skipped thru the last half of the book a lot. When I got to the end I WAS depressed. I expected more. I got less.

I didn't like this book as much as the first
I didn't like this book as much as the first, but it's still an enjoyable read. The first book's cultural and historical references were a bit subtler, which I think suited the story more, while this book is more "in your face" when Zeb comes in contact with various historical events and figures. Beautiful cover design again.

Good Read
My son requested this book as a gift as he read the first one in the series. He liked the author's concept and creativity with the characters.

I was wildly disappointed in the second
As a HUGE fan of Kraus's first Finch book, I was wildly disappointed in the second. The first book was a taut tale full of heart, whimsy, humor and pathos. The Death and Life is a bloated slog that more mirrors some bad Forrest Gump fanfic than the follow up to the first book. It's devoid of the same heart and humor, so not sure what happened here. But I cannot in good conscious recommend Death and Life.

Cool but damaged
Great book but the hard cover was torn completely free from the guts of the book.
