Cheap, easy to use and effective
I have purchased several of these devices. Basically they easily attach to a key chain or whatever you want to clip it to. When easily pulled apart, a SCREECH" sounds very loudly to alert others in the area that something is up. If you accidentally hit it (which I've only done 2x in 2 years), you quickly put it back together. It calls attention to you; so if someone is bothering you, pull it and hopefully they go away...or at least others come to the alarm.

Very happy with it.
It's cute, and it works well. I'd say it's a little quieter than your average smoke detector. I don't think it would work to attract a lot of attention if you were outside with no one around, but it might surprise and scare off somebody.

It's LOUD
I have a 10 year old who I like to keep safe. This alarm gives me a certain peace of mind, knowing that if anything happens they have a way of drawing attention. 120 decibels is no joke. You set this off outside they can probably hear it all the way down the street (depending on the length of the street of course). I also like how nondescript the design looks, so other kids won't feel tempted to set it off as long as they dont know what it is.

The ones that work are great!
Bought three. After testing them, two would wake the dead, but the third sounded like a sick cricket. Dying battery I guess. There is no way to open it up and replace it, so I'm kinda stuck.

Surprisingly it is pretty secured to the clip on portion
Just got the item today. I got it for my wife as one of the means to protect and add deterent if she ever needed. I was surprised with the loudness of this small device. I was skeptical on if the pull pin idea would be functional and not fall off the key chain. Surprisingly it is pretty secured to the clip on portion. I was able to shake it vigurously by the pin only and it didnt come off, yet still easy enough to pull off if need be.

Not very loud, doesn't scare dogs away actually attracts them
I bought this alarm because I was injured in a dog bite attack by a stranger's dog and wanted to have something which might scare off future dogs or break up dog fights. This alarm claims to scare off bears so I thought it'd work on dogs. The alarm is small which is a nice feature. I tried it as an experiment in my local dog park, it went off and was moderately loud but really not any louder than other attack alarms I've had. Rather than being scared off every single dog in the dog park came over out of interest to see what was going on. I tried it a few times at home with my own dog and she didn't even flinch every time it went off and just sat next to me curious. So this 100% doesn't deter dogs and in fact attracts them. There's no way a bear would be scared off by this. I won't be using it again.

Inexpensive peace of mind, just in case.
I saw this on the news and immediately purchased two. One for me and one for my daughter. We tested it and its pretty loud. I carry it in my purse in a little side pocket easy to get to. If I go walking, jogging or biking, I will take it separately, clipping it to keep it handy. Hopefully I won't ever have to use it but knowing my daughter has one and me too gives me peace of mind to ward off an attacker. Love that its so inexpensive.

Very affective.
I accidently set this off by siting on it. Its incredably loud and would garner attention/ scare things away. If allowed to go off for a minute or two it produces this deep ear ringing that makes me feel a slight head ache and dizzyness. Its easy to start up by pulling it apart but I still fumble a little plugging the ends together to make it stop

Seems to work well but not a great design
Two design issues: 1) When activated (by definition in a panicked rush) the user's hand covers the speaker and muffles the noise. 2) It ought to be possible to attach either the alarm or the pin to something (e.g. a lanyard or a bike). But it is only possible to attach the pin. The noise-making section will always remain in the user's hand. So when a bike, for example, is stolen out of their hands it's not possible to leave the noise-making section attached to the bike. You'd be left standing with the noise while the thief rides away in peace and quiet.
