Works great if you have reasonable expectations
For me, the whirly board was too whirly to use with a standing desk while still being productive. This gave it the right level of stability to turn it from a pure workout to a reasonable work day long period core and leg engagement. Then when wanting more of a challenge, just pop it off the ring.

Helps in learning
I got it for free when I ordered both the board and ring together. I used it for two days, and after that I was able to balance out the board without the ring.

It does stabilize, but I feel it OVER-stabilizes...
So far I love the whirly board, but when doing spins I found myself sliding around in the room, which makes sense. That's only really a problem because I'm a bit limited on space where I can use the board; I try to stick to where we have area rugs so I don't risk damage to our wood floors. So, I got the stabilizing ring in the hopes that I could then keep the board exactly where I want it but still be able to do spins/work on balance. It's not really great for that, though. The ring keeps it exactly in place, but it also keeps it completely stiff, so the board doesn't really move much at all when you're on it. You may as well be on a skateboard-shaped step stool. I'm not really sure what the solution to that would be, I might try waxing the ring or something like that, but for now the ring is just sitting on a shelf.

Too expensive
It works fine, but it is too expensive. I'd also like it if it were higher off the ground so it didn't rub on the floor while standing on the board.

Helps a little but not really much
I bought this because the whirly board without it is a bit of a danger! It's all over the place. Howerver, this thing isn't designed as well as it should be. The center ball fits perfectly, but it's just not big enough to stay in place. The stabilizer tends to pop out from one side or the other. If the base was a little wider, it might work better. I'm thinking of buying the mat for this, to see if that helps keep it in place.

Sized only to fit manufacturer’s balance board
It appears to be sized to fit only this manufacturer’s balance wobble board. It did not fit mine made by someplace else.

Stable
Board and ring arrived together. Ring is useful for me as I’m older and using board for stability training. My kids use board without ring to practice skateboard moves. Truly family friendly. Lives in our den. Everyone has to try it when they see it.
