It's sitting in a 5 gallon paint bucket - very firmly stuck onto the bottom for months now. Can't even slide it around. Had some silicone tubing so tried that it fits great. Provides plenty of flow for the head. The thing is so silent I can only tell visually that it's running. I don't think the flow control offers much difference but then I usually 'fine tune' what I want through crimping the hose.
