This book is not only beautifully illustrated but it is very educational I absolutely love it and to my bookworm my daughter this was a perfect little something to give her just because.

My niece needed this. Thanks. I bought this book for my niece, she would know about the many daring, powerful, adventurous and badass women who told the women no you can't put limits on me or tell me I can't because you said so. I like Anne Shen's take of taken the variety of women through out history, around the world, with a variety of backgrounds and personal qualities. As an authoress, with her books she goes through time and place and focuses on women with a plethora of characteristics, if so considered as flaws in their time. My sister welcomed this book from me to my niece. Thanks sis. Plus, thank you Anne Shen, as an authoress keep combing in your works portrayals and brief descriptions, plus interesting of images of historical women who pushed the envelop and dared the world away.😄😄😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

It’s a great coffee table book!

I originally ordered this book prior to its release. When it finally shipped, I ran home after work to find this beautiful gem. I am amazed every time I glance at it, or open the pages, to see its quality. The images and illustrations are a marvel all on their own. Then, you add stories of women who have been "bad" in their own right. Of course, not bad to say they necessarily committed crimes, but "bad" as to say they maybe ruffled some feathers. I started my very own "Bad Girls Book Club" with this book as our first read. At first, it began as a meeting of me and my two dogs (both females), while I read to them. Yes, I sound crazy, but I loved reading out loud. Slowly, we are gaining members and their pets (we don't discriminate on kind of pet). The book has helped me unite ties within myself, and other women. I am hoping to keep this book long enough to read to my very own child. Hopefully, they will be inspired to be "bad".

This book is fabulous! I picked it up in honor of International Women's Day, loving that I would be supporting a WOC in its purchase, and it has not disappointed. Fun and colorful, I've been both pleasantly and annoyingly surprised (thanks to the sad state of education leading to this) to find that I only recognize only about 25% of the women included in this book, making it the perfect learning piece for me.I will echo others in saying that font of the descriptions is a bit small and that some of the stories felt like they could be expanded on, but I think overall that it is the perfect book for women both young and old.

I got a copy of this book while reviewing children's books for Women's History month.It's definitely not for young children (so deliciously bloody!), but I'll pull it down from the shelves once my boys are clsoer to 10-12ish (not sure, they're only preschoolers now). Most importantly - they MUST read books like this on influential women in history because how else are we going to break the glass ceiling if our son's aren't helping?I'm buying a copy for my mom for mother's day and asking for a copy of this for my birthday. I LOVE this book about kick-ass, name-taking, tough and ruthless women throughout history. Whenever anyone makes the old argument of why we don't feature more women in history because 'not enough women did anything imporant' - grab this nice heavy book and beat them soundly about the face and neck with it.And then behead them and seize their land, because THAT IS HOW BAD GIRLS DO.

A great book to read or have as a coffee table book. I have bought a number of copies for gifts

Lovely illustrated and easy to read

I love this book, I wish I had read reviews beforing buying it as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend's five year old daughter though! I made the mistake of not reading through it thoroughly before gifting it. Fortunately, when we read it for the first time last night, she didn't pick anything too adult. Her dad and I went through it afterwards and decided we would just seal the edges of some pages together so she doesn't come across any adult content on her own but so we can still break the seal for when she is older and we can discuss those topics with her then. For others where there is a brief mention of sexuality for example, we've just decided to skip over those parts when reading or will reframe those sentences in a more age appropriate way should she notice us skipping it or when she is able to read those parts herself.But overall, I am very impressed with this book and my step daughter loved it, even if most of what I read went over her head. She kept asking me to read one more, over and over until her dad was like "no, it's already way past bedtime." He was pretty stoked I got her this book too as it will encourage great discussions as she grows.
