I would say my ears are medium to large and it's ok for me. The pressure is light and it's quite comfortable. Large ears it may not quite fit inside the cups, but it may still be worth trying.

can the anc be turned off?

Yes You can turn anc off and you also get longer battery time with it off (30hrs) with it on you get 25hrs. I hope this is helpful :)
