High quality. Small grains. Good for cooking oil disposal.
I was looking for a better way to dispose of used cooking oil from my deep fryer. I had about 1.4L of oil. I warmed it to about 250 degrees and added about 160 grams of stearic acid. I stirred it around until it was fully dissolved. I then let it cool overnight. It changed the liquid canola oil into a slush that I could put into a paper bag and then dispose of in my organic waste bin.

Good Replacement for Fry Away
I did some research after purchasing a package of Fry Away and found out that it is a fancy name for a chemical (Stearic Acid). So I found out that Amazon sells this stuff at a much discounted price. It works pretty good (especially if you have a large amount of oil you want to emulsify before throwing out). I've always hated pouring oil into a can or bag for disposal (never down the sink) and this is a convenient and clean alternative. Unfortunately the shipping company was less than careful with my shipment and split the bag open during transit. Nothing on the company that I purchased this from, but the shipper should be a little more careful.

Turns cooking oil solid for pennies on the dollar
I can't believe people pay so much money for the tiny little packets of oil solidifyer when this is the primary ingredient & way less expensive. I added about ยผ-ยฝ cup to a 3 quart Dutch oven full of frying oil & it was the consistency of drying Play-Doh it just crumbled right out of the pan & made it way easier to transport to the oil recycling center (despite the ads you still need to bring solidified oil to a recycling center, just because it's hard and avoiding pipes doesn't mean you should just throw it in the trash it cannot go into the ground water)

Great for getting rid of old oil!
I don't fry often but when I do, getting rid of the oil is the part I hate the most; tbh, it sits on my stove for a few days while I try to find a way to get rid of it. This stuff is a GAME CHANGER. I use 1/4 cup and sprinkle it in my hot oil. Idk how long it takes to solidify (I leave it on the stovetop overnight) but in the morning, it's solid and I dump it in the trash. I was going to buy a different product that was way more expensive and after reading the comments, people all said to buy stearic acid in bulk. I'm glad I did! This is a must have in my kitchen now.

EXCEEDED Expectations.
I had an Asian product that had these little packets of white beads/shards they advertised to solidify cooking oils and worked great but were a tad bit expensive for the amount given. I did a bit of research into what the main ingredients could be and found one that at least had the same properties "Stearic Acid" a quick Amazon search later and I found this listing for the raw material itself. I read a few comments of people happy with the product so I gave it a chance thinking I had nothing to lose. I used about the same pellet to oil ratio (granted by eye) and this stuff made a chunk that seemed to be even harder and more solidified making it easier to move as a brick then a soft piece of gel

Works well to thicken used cooking oil
I had been looking at products that solidify used cooking oil to make it less messy when throwing it away. There are several products on the market for this, but the consumer reports article I read mentioned that stearic acid was a lower priced alternative that does the same thing as the more expensive brand name products. I donโt do a lot of oil frying, but when I do, this acid has worked well to make disposal less messy.
