Not my favorite mineral sunscreen
I was hoping this mineral sunscreen would be a hydrating solution for my dry, dehydrated, and easily irritated skin, after getting this for free to review. Unfortunately, it was the exact opposite of what I expected. The product left my face feeling irritated, very dry, and unpleasantly shiny. It is also moderately thick and pasty, which made it difficult to apply without tugging on my skin. I had to be very slow and careful with the application. While the initial white cast eventually disappeared after about an hour (I used the recommended two-finger-length amount), but it lingered on my friend's facial hair. Though it's important to apply sunscreen to a beard for protection, this product is not ideal for that purpose, but seemed fine for the kids and I

Great for Rosacea
Having rosacea it is very difficult for me to use a sunscreen that not only protects my sensitive skin but doesn't break me out as well. Cotz is the only product I have found that does both. I am very pleased with this product - I use it everyday and have had no problems with it. As a matter of fact I have noticed my skin isn't even as red as it used to be so I believe it is helping my skin as well as protecting it. I use it under my makeup and have even been complimented on my skin...I will continue to use it. It is a great product!

I have never hated a sunscreen this much
I have never hated a sunscreen this much. This is extremely comedogenic, so DO NOT apply this to your FACE. I will retain this only for use on my arms/legs when I run out of other stuff. It also looks really oily once it's on your face.

Good Sunscreen
I use it for outdoor swimming. It works great for that but it is a little greasy to use as an everyday sunscreen. The Cotz for the face is less greasy.

Effective as a sunscreen, but my pores hate it
I live in Florida, am older, and am outdoors daily. Sunscreen is a necessary evil for me. I feel like I have worked my way through hundreds of sunscreens trying to find one that doesn’t irritate my eyes or my dry, sensitive skin, that actually protects my skin, that lasts more than an hour, and doesn’t cause breakouts. I like the mineral based sunscreens based for protection. I wish they didn’t turn my olive toned skin zombie blue gray. But I live with it if the sunscreen works. This cotz sunscreen passed the no irritation test, and no sunburn test. But my skin HATES it. I feel like my pores are literally suffocating. If you are using sunscreen occasionally on a vacation, maybe you live with it for a few days. There is something in the cotz formula that is PRO comedogenic. At the end of the day I could not wait to get this off my face. Soap and water didn’t work, still felt residue. Used makeup remover. Still felt residue. Scrubbed my poor delicate aging facial skin with washcloth and face still didn’t feel clean. Slept with my normal face oil. Pimple city the next morning. Never again. I wish I knew what was in this formula that is suffocating so that I can avoid it in other products. Three stars for unscented, no chemical sensitivity reactions and for actually working. Maybe this will work on your skin better than mine.

Sweat white.
We used the Fallene Cotz Vanishing Formula during a Memorial Day Mets Baseball game. It was a disgustingly got day (96 degrees) and the sun was high and burning. I applied to all five of our faces 30 minutes before we set out. At the moment of application the product felt too thick. The more I attempted to rub in the product the more our faces took on a bluish hue/tint! We rubbed until we developed a mixture of blue tint with dead skin. We carried on to the game where we then realized that we were sweating the formula off within a couple of minutes of sitting in our seats. It was very embarrassing sweating white everywhere that the product was applied. By the end of the day, the fair skinned bunch of us was a bit red. For me personally, I was red and my freckles (that only come out when I am exposed to the sun) were very pronounced. I had the sunburn feverish feeling. I do not recommend this product, because if you apparently sweat then you are done with it's SPF protection. This was bundled with the fact that it had the weirdest hue when applied. Too difficult to apply into skin and it only protected minimally. This is the first time I have actually sweat 'white' when dealing with this sort of product.

Cotz SPF 40
This Cotz Sunscreen SPF 40 offers good protection but I find the texture too heavy for me. The sunscreen is a little sticky and heavy for everyday use during the hot and humid summer months.

A little goes a long way, it blends quickly ...
A little goes a long way, it blends quickly and absorbs so your face isn't greasy. I am on a treatment for melasma which makes my face very sensitive and although this sometimes stings a little when I put it on, that feeling fades quickly and I know my face is well protected.
