I don't wear a watch as a status symbol, so the chunky, designer type things were never a temptation for me. I have a Seiko automatic that I also love, but this beauty is my everyday watch. I just think it looks amazing, so much better than the round versions - why have a circular watch with a digital display? It has clear, large digits, and it updates reliably every night to the exact second. I think it has pretty decent water resistance and all the usual alarm and timer functions, but I don't use them. I think it looks rather good, too. July 2023 update: still a pristine shiny face, no scratches. I didn't mention the strap adjustment you'll undoubtedly need to make. First off, to make it all easier, detach the strap from the body of the watch, so you have a flat stage to work on. Use a pin to push a spring bar out of its housing. Pull out 3 links. You'll need fine point tweezers or a small point screwdriver to edge them out from a small gap within the inside of the strap.. when you see it you'll know. Try to push outwards from the gap, and a flat link- head should start to appear from the strap. Then pliers to remove. You might be able to do this by hand. It'll be worth it. You'll get a fine two pronged bracket. Pull it out, wiggle and twist until the link escapes - again, you might feel like you're doing damage, but you're not. Removing a link and putting the strap back together is then intuitive. Replace the strap onto the body of the watch with skill, depressing the small bar till it fits back into the slot! Good luck, and enjoy! May 24 update: Still my favourite watch. Still pristine, still excellent time. Prior to buying this, I chopped and changed frequently, but almost a year on and I've worn it every day. I'd still absolutely recommend this wave ceptor. I just looked for a plastic strap version as a second, but it seems none available. Now a sizeable p+p charge too. Review: A very nice watch! - An excellent, sturdy watch and very comfortable on the wrist. Please note that you will lose the Wave Ceptor feature if the battery becomes low, and/ or the light might stop working also. This is not a fault with the product; merely a sign that the battery needs replacement (just use a good quality one e.g. Panasonic). If you look at the dates first available, AVEG is 2010 and this one 2021. This one is also 2g lighter so they have probably updated the internals. **Q: Hi I am looking to order a qty of 5 of these watches. Do you have qunatity of 5? Can you get stock of qty of 5?** A: plastic **Q: Is the case plastic or metal?** A: The outer case is metal with the inner being some sort of resin. I have been having these since they first came out (probably 30 years or more) and have never broken the case or the strap but have broken the glass on a couple of them due to unintentional contact with steel. One was hit with a 3/4" socket tee bar, broke the glass but saved my wrist so it did a good job. They keep exact time and change automatically between British wintertime and summertime. I have never had a flat battery but do not tend to use the backlight. I keep a new one as a spare just in case I need it. I will keep having them as long as I need a watch as long as they are still available. To say I am impressed with them is an understatement. Tony Morris. **Q: How many alarms has it?** A: Sorry but as I do not use the alarm I do not know. Watch itself is excellent, I have been wearing these for many years. Reason for changing them has been accidental damage whilst at work.
