This kit works so well. The back on my watch was very tight (waterproof 100m) just apply pressure and it slowly unscrews change battery (less than a pound for a renata quality replacement). Then screw the back plate back on very tightly. I'm impressed with these gadgets, thankyou.

So bought this kit to unscrew the rear plate of my watch to change the battery. Thought rather than pay up the nose at a jewellers to do it, I'd buy the kit and do it myself. Come with an handy plastic watch holder to secure the watch whilst unscrewing the back cover. This worked really well and done the trick. Then you get the actual tool with 2 adjustable prongs which are used to fit in the little recesses in the rear plate. This worked perfectly once adjusted. There is another little tool almost like a small screwdriver. Not sure what it's for but handy for flicking the battery out. And a pair of cheap flimsy pointed tweezers which in my previous experience of these, they are pretty useless they tend to bend to easily. But not used these ones yet so could be pleasantly surprised. To sum it up: * This kit actually does what it's supposed to do. * Can be used to save you money that you would otherwise spend to get a jewellers to do exactly the same job. * It is made from cheap materials so when it comes to value for money and durability and how long it will last. It's hard to say. (This is why I gave 4 out of 5 stars) * Overall for the price and it's performance even if you get to change 5-10 watch batteries using this tool. You would have got your money back plus saved quite a bit as well. For me it's a no trainer.

Really easy to use and ensures a complete job.

I’m not one for leaving feedback but I have to say this tool was fantastic, I changed batteries in 3 watches in less than 10 mins, when quoted at £40-£50 to get one battery changed in a professional shop (will not name them, but they also cut keys etc) it makes no sense when you can use this product and buy some batteries too, huge saving and done quickly.

the back opener was very fiddly and obviously a cheap one eventually managed to open the sealed back

Excellent quality, I could not remove the watch back until I used the wrench because the rubber seal grips the back tightly . Very easy to use.

Easy to use, I had no problem with it to open a tag heuer watch.

This is ridiculously cheap for such a well made and effective tool. I have removed screw backs before with great difficulty. Some backs are impossible to loosen. But with this tool even the most stubborn backs can be loosened. To look at the two small prongs you thing they are quite vulnerable to breakage, but in fact they are very strong. There are only two prongs (compared with three on other devices) but that is sufficient. Used in conjunction with the provided plastic holder, you can tackle watch backs that are screwed really tight. I have now used it succeccfully on four watches of different sizes. That's €30 - €40 saved at the jewellers.
