Holy everything! I have three major bruises and I was super excited to get some Arnica gel as I have used it in the past. The ingredients all look pretty good--though different from what's listed here--so as soon as it arrived I instantly slathered some on. Thigh, butt, back of arm. Within seconds my thigh started burning hot. I was slightly concerned, then it got HOTTER. Then the back of my arm started burning. I tried to wash it off--used some cold milk to calm my skin but hello, I have major bruises...so rubbing it hurts. So here I am with my pants down trying to calm my inflamed red skin right before I need to leave. Weirdly enough, my butt isn't burning. Just my thigh and my arm. Maybe has to do with clothing wiping a lot off? I will try again but maybe not on tender places that would hurt to wash and test if how thickly it is applied matters. In the meanwhile, buyer beware.UPDATE: I did some research on the ingredients that were listed on the tube and one is Vanillyl Butyl Ether which is a warming agent: "warming agents and include capsicum (red pepper), ginger extract and vanillyl alcohol alkyl ether derivatives. Capsicum is the material used most as a warming agent in personal care; however, its side effects may include skin irritation, burning, itching and possible carcinog­enicity"Also note that the burning does go away but it leaves sensitive skin red. I did a test patch on my unbruised arm, the thinner application didn't burn as much and the thicker application burned more and was red for longer. NOTE: I'm fair skinned and have some mild skin allergies to nickel. I also cannot tolerate eating spicy foods. So this may work just find for those who don't have sensitive skin.
